DC, JPM, the switch, is this the proof we need...

Itv has some information about DC, JPM and the move.

Quote:
In an interview with the Daily Telegraph Williams admitted this was the case but was adamant he would not let his ‘great driver’ go neither for a fee nor for a swap with McLaren’s David Coulthard.

He said: “There was never a chance we would let him go early. Juan's a winner. Why would we want to oblige Ron, to take David Coulthard?
To me this just shows that when they say that there has not been a decision made about the 2005 lineup is just garbage. I guess we all knew it anyway.

I love this quote...“He is a natural killer in a car.”

That just about sums up JPM. I was told the move was about money even though JPM claims otherwise. So it seem DC is out of a seat next year and JPM will finally be a "paid" killer.

I think you are drawing conclusions that shouldn't be made. Certainly, it would appear that he won't drive for Mac or Williams, but there are a few other teams I believe.

I'm still not convinced Kimi will be with the Ron Dennis Mac Attack in 2005...

I'm still not convinced DC is done in the Mac in 2005.

DC is controlling his own destiny this year. If all this talk about being gone and being washed up motivates him to show everyone different, and he goes top 3, then he may still have a shot at keeping his seat. He may, I say may, just show us what he's made of.

Anything can happen, and really, its just too soon...

the collapse of GPWC and FIA/FOA coming to an agreement they are allowing 3 car teams if the manufacturer sells chassis to smaller teams...
hahaha that is the only way DC will stay at Mac.

Wether DC stays or not, won't be controlled by his own destiny, but Ron and Kimi. DC's only hope is that...

A) Kimi doesn't want to stay, alongside JPM.

B) Ron doesn't want to pay.

If DC stays, it will be because of one of the above, not because of anything he's done.

What if he out-right beats Kimi, Mr V? That would have to make the decision very tough on Ron.

If DC can get a handle on one lap qualifying, I give him an outside shot of beating Kimi.

Not a chance

I might put a bet on DC beating Kimi in 2004, which will, of course, jinx any chance for DC

There will , I believe, be a lot of driver movement in '05. The driver pool is likely to contain other veterans besides DC. He most definitely has to overcome his qualifying deficiencies if he hopes to get closer than 40 points to his teammate this year. His performance will also determine his future employment in F1. His track record lately is not promising.

It is possible that Kimi could leave, but there are really only 2 possibilities, team wise. But I can't imagine Kimi running from a fight, which is what he's going to get. It is not healthy at this level to display fear or weakness to your opponent.
