Personal Accident Insurance/Repatriation Insurance

I suspect many BMMC members read Ten-Tenths more often than they look at our own web site. With this in mind, it might be worth repeating details of new Personal Accident insurance and Repatriation Insurance introduced this year.

For those BMMC members who like to marshal abroad, the Club now provides:

MSA-type personal accident cover for members who officiate at non-MSA approved events, both here and abroad, i.e. £65,000 for death or very serious injury, up to £350 a week for up to 104 weeks for temporary total disablement, plus lesser benefits for less serious injuries.

Repatriation from almost anywhere in the World for members who suffer injury as a result of a motorsport incident while marshalling abroad; repatriation may not always be available within standard holiday insurance policies for motorsport related incidents. Cover is for up to £50,000 in return for a single premium of £10 to cover multi-trips within the term of the PA Policy (ends September 2013 but will probably be renewed for 2013/14)

The existing Personal Accident policy provides members with valuable top-up insurance at MSA sanctioned events, where standard MSA cover is provided but sometimes with stricter qualification requirements than the BMMC PA policy.

The Club also supplies valuable Public Liability insurance while officiating in motorsport events or otherwise on Club business at exhibitions and the like. This provides fail safe cover for members in the most unlikely event that PL cover provided by the MSA for all Registered Clubs fails.

Full details can be found on www.marshals.co.uk.

Clarification please George, does that mean we have to pay a £10 premium over and above our membership if we want the repatriation cover?
