Sponsorship

Just thought i'd start this because nothing lately inhere has interested me.

What kind of sponsors have all you racers got? and how did you manage to get them? and your Ultimate sponsor?

What's a sponsor? (glib tongue in cheek comment)
You'll find that most of us on here are "self sponsored", ie: we don't have one.

Though, I'm always open to offers!

Rob.

Same here, I try to promote my own little company so if anyone wants to help me then use my services (can I say that, oh well I just did anyway). :-)

I have 6 sponsors at the moment, one Russian pipeline company, one British pipeline company, Croft circuit, Direct windscreens, National signs, Ripley Caravan Park. Most of these come from sending off lots of proposal packages!

I'll be watching for 77, but I'll miss taking pictures of the green bug.

does it depend on the championship you run in on your chances of getting sponsorship?

In many cases, it's not what you know, but who you know.

The first questions to ask are to yourself. What have you got to offer a sponsor? Why should a company invest it's money in YOU and what is it going to get out of the deal?

And invariable the answer is not a lot, I gave up the quest years and would prefer to dedicate my efforts earning money to pay for it all. The only sposorship I ever got was when I was standing in the pits holding bits of broken motor a fellow competitor came over and gave me a grand because he said I always tried so hard on a low budget. I think he felt a bit sorry for me but terrific gesture anyhow.

Hey after being so negative I have just had some genuine of interest from a big profile sponsor (customer of mine and I only asked as a joke) out of the blue that wants to sponsor a 'Classic' car and if American even better because what they are promoting.

I am not gonna push too hard but if I can get just a bit of help with entry fees and running costs it will be great. Oh and it will also help any championship I enter the car in because this is a media company (can't say too much though at this stage, nod, nod, wink, wink but keep you fingers crossed for me people).
