Cars werent reliable those days unlike now when you know you would be very unlucky not to finish

He raced at Monaco in '67, as well as Indy, retiring with broken suspension like in '66.

Chapmans cars were not really ready for Monaco in early 60’s
Moss won in 61 in an 18 but that was it until Hill’s win.

He won the US GP at Watkins Glen, his only win that year.

With one of the most useless engines ever to be used in a front line GP car but that was covered about ten posts ago!

Moss won it twice in a Lotus in '60 and '61. The first driver to win back to back.

The 61 race was one of his great drives.

I think Stirling himself said the 61 Monaco GP and the 55 Mille Miglia were his greatest drives and it’s hard to disagree there

Would have thought the 61 race at the Ring would be in there. Better than Monte Carlo?

Both were great in that he beat the dominant Ferraris, but at Monaco he admits he was on the limit lap after lap. Now that takes some dedication, especially at Monte Carlo

Masta Kink alone puts Monaco in the shade.
Comparing modern drivers to those of the late 60s is like comparing Chinese Checkers to playing Hopscotch on a minefield.

Now we’re at Francochamps!
I went to 65 Belgium GP and at end of first lap Clark was way ahead of Stewart who was way ahead of rest.
Not bad as he detested the place!
