So this Jordan's new era is not that new. The same championship, the same car, the same team, just a different livery. Nevertheless I'm very happy he's back, such top level drivers should be on the grid.
He has never run in the BTCC without Pirtek. In three car teams he had always run separate livery. For him I can imagine this feels very different and the start of a new era.

I think his 2009 Vectra livery was quite close to being a uniform one, but yes, I think he has always had a different livery.

Yeah, you're right and I perfectly understand that albeit deleting all posts on Instagram and all of that made it look as if it was a completely new chapter for him.

I have never really seen AJ as a team player, so I will be interested to see how he manages being a team player in Team Turkington.

The Pirtek backing was also minimal in 2008.

But yes, this will be the first time he has had no Pirtek backing on his car, and a long time since he has been the focus of his main backers.

As with any driver who 'moves' to being part of a larger team, there must be an adjustment of the mindset as part of the racecraft.

Now AJ is a BMW boy, he can't vote or threaten with his feet by taking his Pirtek money elsewhere, so he's got to stay with BMW through good times and bad.

I’d like to see how AJ plays out now being a team player, I’ve never been a fan of him as a person tbf think he’s just way too arrogant and self centred to work full within a team, especially when he was going against team orders last year.

Will be interesting to see how Dick handles him as part of team bmw now

I was expecting Jake to be staying, maybe he's moving up to AmD then?

Collard staying at PMR or maybe he seeks a Civic seat ?

Linking those two points together - MB was evaluating the possibility of switching to a FK2 towards the end of 2019. MB Partners has also been speculated as having an interest in Jake's career management.

So maybe one or two of the FK2 seats were already tied up by MB a while ago - it just hasn't been announced yet? Cobra already confirmed a while back that they would have two different drivers for 2020 in their cars.

Every driver on the grid is selfish by definition - why would you be anything else whilst you have still have a chance of winning the championship?AJ played his part in Colin’s 2018 title, especially in the penultimate race when Colin was struggling, but also in races prior to that. As long as a driver has a mathematical chance of winning the championship there are no team orders in WSR, other than don’t take each other off. In fact they go out of their way to ensure a level playing field and I can’t see that changing.

I think this could be a great year for AJ. For the first time his place in a top team is purely because the manufacturer and team want him there, not because he has a big bag of Pirtek cash to go with his undoubted talent. I think that will give him a real boost in confidence and determination.

Only 11 confirmed but quite a few contracts signed and not announced yet. Should see a few more pieces of the puzzle confirmed soon.

Clue 1:
They'll consist of a base and a back.

Clue 2:
There'll be mounting brackets holding the base to the car.

Clue 3:
There'll be a bloke* sat in them during the race.

*or maybe a girl

I think I suggested it as a possibility if Jordan was off. It's certainly something I would have liked to see as I believe Rob would take to the car like a duck to water. Realistically Rob will continue at PMR or not return to the series. Hope he's racing something somewhere, jolly nice chap for a chat.
