That's a real shame about Tordoff, he's one of the cleanest racers out there, very quick, sensible and brings a big budget with him. Not very many drivers like that about.

I wonder where this leaves WSR's 2nd and 3rd cars...

Yes. Look no further than Thruxton and Silverstone for examples for both teams.

Would love to see Turks back at WSR, but, unless I am mistaken, the reason he left in 2015 was the lack of sponsorship, and now with Tordoff and JTC600 leaving I think that he will have to find a big sponsor for this to happen. Which, hopefully, shouldn't be a problem for a driver like him.

It's a shame to see Tordoff gone, certainly a very consistent clean driver , but at the end of the day, despite his title challenge, motorsport is not the be all end all for him, which is fair enough. Shows there is more to life than racing, but then most drivers in the series have day jobs anyway.

As for Simpson at TD, he's got the talent, let's hope he can eradicate the mistakes

Whilst it's a shame not to see Tordoff back to take the title fight to Shedden, at least it frees up a TBL for someone with the hunger to perform.

Simpson at TD is a bit a of shock, though sounds more like he's got deep enough pockets to have TD run his car. The mentoring should help him loads. He's clearly got the pace just needs to find a rhythm and calm his aggression at times. But at least gives Matt and Gordon a half decent rear gunner

maybe also the option of "tactical safety car" as Warren Scott has done at BMR ?

whatever happened to the "exiting announcement" at Houseman ?

I suppose it wouldn't be entirely unrealistic to suggest that TD could build new-shape cars for Sheds & Neal and run Simpson as an independent in the old car.

I honestly expect TD will run the same model next year that they did this.

The Type R of the new shape Civic will not be on sale until afterthe end of next years BTCC season (my source may be wrong by a month or two), so from a marketing point of view the new car on the race track could reduce sales of the old shape car.

ive been reading this thread for ages so had to sign up so firstly "Hi"

but secondly, it might mean nothing but it looks like having sold their VW's to Hard, BKR how have their transporter and some of their hospitality set up for sale too...

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Race-Truck...UAAOSw4GVYMdkI

Wondering if thats because they will get a BMR hand me down or if this was only really a project for this year?

I could probably pick an example for any driver on the grid where they could be considered to have contributed to an accident - but do you feel Neate was less of an accident risk than any of the other Honda drivers?

Absolutely but forget about Neate, my point is that the Honda drivers were all just as capable of causing carnage as the yellow one and the red one, as it was put

Perhaps the big budget is one of the reasons he is thinking to race elsewhere, it could be that this is an example of teams taking drivers budgets for granted and assuming they will always simply pay. I think I have lamented oh here before that teams rarely find other sources of budget. Is this an indication of the difficulty of finding team sponsors or that it is easier to leave that to drivers?
The same could well be true in F1 and with Z Brown in at McLaren we will see how long it takes him to find a sponsor, after all, that is what he does, or did.

Drivers may well feel that success has little reward apart from the personal sense of achievement

So the 'cool news' later, my thoughts are that it will be PMR's deal with Vauxhall but then that's just me guessing (and hoping)

#BTCC announcements have been coming thick and fast recently. Later today is another one and we think you'll all have plenty to say on it...
I'm liking the sound of this...I think. Sounds like it could be a big bit of news. Unless it's the Palmer's Infiniti returning, in which case I dare say many people will have plenty to say...

The fact The news is 'cool' makes me think that it could be more sponsor related. Maybe we find out where WIX are taking their money? Could be linked with a driver announcement maybe!?!
