Alfa Fan has a lot of promise if they can keep it on the circuit!
Reported lap time of 1:48, which whilst probably not as quick as he could go, not exactly hanging about either!

Going flat out it would probly be a lot faster than that, most of the section across the hill would probly be foot down all the way with the downforce of an F1 car if he was really going for it. Sorry that video was really lame but it's the only one around so far

I took the drive out there from Sydney - was something actually quite special. HEAPS of people there - pretty big traffic jam getting out - I believe that they're estimating roughly double the expected 10K crowd.

To see an F1 car across the top of the mountain was great - by the sound of it down Conrod they were capping revs below maximum. I'd reckon with the right ratios, a bit of work to sort out the setup and the driver really in the groove, you could lop as much as 10 seconds off the time.

I was timing all laps from the top of the mountain, and from up there, Craig was only 2 tenths slower than Jensen in the F1 car - bloody great effort. The "Official" timing down the bottom had him a second slower so Jensen must have had the hammer down a bit more off the mountain or at the chase.

Great experience though and a big thank you to Vodafone for putting it on.

Or are you missing the point? Should I say because they can. Just like they would jump at the chance to do the same at the Nurburgring for example.

I was impressed by how many people turned up to see a demonstration run!

It's fun and it promotes Vodaphone, that's the point. I'd have gone along if I lived locally - as you tell from the amateur video, the site and sound of an F1 car on full chat is exhilarating - this rarely comes across on television broadcasts.
