Great driver Lee, one of the old lads. I respected Jeff's driving. He did tell me he would try to get to a few races next season.

I remember Ron racing the stratos black & gold custom office furniture sponsored BMW f2 engine our cars were at the Essen motorshow together along with Dave Ellis's Aston, Rob cox Sierra, & Toyota starlet thunder saloon.
Ron was a real quick driver I always got on well with him. He offered me a drive of his F3000 car but I didn't take him up on it as it was way too expensive for me to repair if it had broken. All these old cars being shown really makes me feel old !

Thank you for your kind words Lee, I was only 21 when I first started racing in special saloons/ special GT's with a dave pritchard built spaceframed mini ,now I'm 47 . I don't think their are to many cars out their I have not raced against, and driven quite a few.

Glad to see the interest is still very much alive in Special Saloons!

I've entered the Kitten for the championship next year, but I'm likely to miss the first half of the season as I have an 'all expenses paid' trip to Afghanistan for four months starting in March...

The car is starting to get back together - its sat on the ramp right now as I am halfway through stripping/painting the chassis. The engine is half together, the heads have been skimmed and I just need to refit the rockers, preload the tappets then refit the Dellortos and inlet manifold. After that the new pedalbox/MCs are going in and I have a little light rewiring to do before she is ready! Probably going to spend a little bit of the money I'll save while in Kandahar on Protech dampers all round...

Pics to follow as and when I find my camera!

Yes Lee still Instricting I only do 1-2-1 race tuition now ,ARDS tests & instructor training now . I would love to have a drive in your car Lee it would be an honour & would bring back many memories . I drove a space framed saloon recently, the owner thought it was fine but found a problem with it, now rectified & going quicker than ever happy days.

Hi Andy ,Well if Geoff who owns the cars sells the escort then I think the plan is to build a new space framed Mk1 escort. If not then we will use it this year, who knows but I have to say the Mk2 is one of the nicest cars I have had the pleasure of driving ( thank you Geoff). I have had a couple of offers to drive other cars so we will have to see.
