Lee the old ap 4 pots are still great brakes once you can get the balance right on the braking, you will have so much more confidence in your car. Don't forget Lee to many people think that charging into a corner braking later without a well balanced efficiant braking car is going to be quick because they are approaching the corner quicker. This is not the case, slow the car down a little earlier get the car balanced turn in & back on the power earlier. Your exit speed will be quicker , and it's your exit speed that denotes how quick the car will be down the next straight.

I've found them perfect since moving the ducting in a suitable place it was in a useless place before the size was too small I learnt this working away for rally teams the idea the coldest point is at the floor so iam using the two front vents without mesh too throw air in without bends too flow even faster its only 2 years into development and I've got it going round mallory as quick as thurstons old prelude in the lma euro saloons laptime chart an he can drive well so that must say something about the development
Moving forward faster than ever I hope? Be even better with a master too check her like you pete

Haha I have some pics of it off face book ill put em up on here for you I think the name kitten should be renamed rageing blood thursty panther haha
Cheers Lee! At the minute its a broken, knackered old moggy but hopefully she'll be back in one (working) piece in a week or three... I have a new pedalbox to fit and new MCs which should finally sort the brakes

She just about fits on the ramp!

Still haven't got around to fitting the pedalbox, but I've decided I'm going to junk the existing (crap) wiper setup and fit a rear wiper from a Fiesta (light, cheap, small, on/off rather than faffing with intermittent etc)

Have been busy both front and back, sanding, cleaning and painting

Engine - heads back on with ARP studs, need to put the rockers on then set the tappet preload before the inlet manifolds and carbs go back on (Sunday hopefully)

And I've finally got around to stripping/painting the exhaust - mainly a rubbish day that one...

Simon, great updates on your work in progrees. Always nice to see how people are getting on in the off season.

I hope life treats you well whilst you are away and hope you can get lots done to the Kitten when you're back before you rejoin the fray in the summer.

Thanks! I've already mentally spent the bonus I get for going... Protech (maybe Gaz depending on how much I save!) might be getting a wedge of it. Really fancy a datalogger too but not sure if funds will allow. I'll settle for the brakes working and the engine not popping a headgasket first

Cool, and yes, in that order maybe best, although you'll probably want your engine to run cleanly to get the speed up to warrant the brakes working?

Soz couldn't resist Si...

Hi Pete & Lee!

Yep sounds like mine - from what I can trace the Walker brothers ran my car in Wendy Wools in 1987, when it looked like this:

This is the paintscheme I'd quite like to restore it to at some point, but much modifying would need to be done first around the arches & sills!

The next info I have about the car is when it was raced by Brian Scholey in the Lynton Trailers NW Sports Saloons, now in white/blue/yellow (c. 1994):

Apart from that the history is a little hazy - it was in Cornwall stored for about 10 years before a guy down there resprayed it red, then the previous owner to me bought it. He moved it up here and didn't do much apart from a couple of sprints. Then I bought it last Feb and here we are!

The name John Roberts is new, Pete can you fill in the blanks? Or Lee is there any more in your programmes?

Ta! Si

Some great pics there. Someone somewhere has probably got a few of mine, I'd love to see some good close up pics, one reason being that I've not figured out where they ran the air filter !

It's the McMillan 309. Having had the car down to a bare shell there are lots of unused holes that im sure once had a purpose!

Lots of pics on fb Lee, I'll be glad to just have it running again

Yes but not that 309, that's the one owned by the Morris brothers, only similarities are that's it's a 309 and rwd!

This is what mine originally looked like:

Ricky hutch then owned it for over 15 years, he painted it yellow

It's now boxes of bits and a shell without rotten bits that's nearly ready for paint !
