They're embarrassing IMSA. Don't do BoP if you don't know how to do it.

Surely Caddy didn't do what GM ALWAYS does when introducing a new car and run to a delta time for BoP benefit.... say it isn't so... I refuse to believe it.

That's not what IMSA have said to invite P2 teams. They sold that every team could be able to compete, and it was ok until last BoP, now we see the Cadillacs going to 1.35 while the best P2 with the best P1 drivers getting 1.38 as best.

On the other hand, we have 4 different cars running at the front of GTD.
(And 7 different brands in the first 7 positions) |

Well Johnny O' just "graced" us with his presence on the RLM stream...time to rant!
I hope that I am not alone in saying that the over-excitable dog that is Johnny O' is the single most obnoxious human being to walk this earth? I can trace my disdain for his commentary ability in the old ALMS ESPN3 days when the brass at ESPN thought it a good idea to have him in as color commentator. I have never known someone who's voice and overall commentary style irks me more than Johnny O. Having said that, so long as he is unable to complete a phrase or a sentence without interjecting a couple hundred-million "Um's", 'Y'Knows', or 'I tell ya's', I will always find it suitable to serve him a nice warm plate of Mute Button. |

The P2 to DPi BOP is actually not too bad. And the BOP in Formula Cadillac is pretty good all 3 cars are pretty even.

I mean, I guess one way to look at it is that imsa failed in bop. Another way, is that the American prototype class is capable of being head and shoulders above the semi spec p2 aco class. Now the American prototype class is a legitimate first class class. I am choosing to look at it the second way. I would rather have an audi-like performance than a car that is the class of the field being leveled down to a common lesser group. Imagine seeing Doonan's goofy smile if his cars pace was the level of the leaders, because of bop. |

Good for Alb that he's up to speed then.
Nobody else is using the Dallara chassis, either stock or as a base for anything. Judging by the restart, that V8 is putting out a lot of horses. I expect IMSA to slap a restrictor on it after the race... |

Too bad it doesn't -as I'm sure far too many believe- override the fact that literally every other manufacturer has had problems that have clearly held back their performance, so we do not have genuinely accurate comparisons to draw from. |

Only because IMSA allows it so. Do you think Gibson could not turn up that V8 to match the Caddy if they were allowed to?

Is their actually a race or just a whine fest going on?? See a LOT of keyboard experts hours into the season. So can I remind all of the whiners what they said if any LMP2 car is faster at Sebring? It's ONE VERY UNIQUE track, either they are slightly off here or we get the BOP-of-the-week deal. Pick ONLY one. |

Is a Cadillac breezing past the next fastest car on the banking like they're in different classes not compelling enough for you?

Nice "fight" between Duval, Rast and Van Overbeek on the world of 1.39 per lap.
BTW the spanish drivers (Gutierrez and another one) talking at FOX are talking imminent rain coming next. |

For as much complaining about BOP and the way that IMSA do things with FCYs, this is really no different than when Audi were running R8s in the first half of the 2000s. Especially 2000-2003.

GTD getting the coverage it deserves. They are toying with each other right now though. Would love to see all of these guys in there in the last hour. I have a heart for BMW on this one. #4 Corvette in trouble! |

Get ready for a caution if that Vette doesn't get moving.
