Porsche GT3RSR
The updates that the GT3RSR offers seems to be more extensive than the previous S update. Will exisiting RS models be able to be converted into an SR or will the teams need to buy an all new car?

The chassis can be updated into an RSR with a factory supplied kit . I suppose some of the smaller teams will go this route whereas the bigger teams for the most part go the new chassis route .

It will depend on the amount of Chassis left available (ie, not sold) before the end of the season. I was involved with trying to purchase a GT3R a few years ago when they were first built and Porsche only produced a certain amount and deposits for most of them had gone down at Le Mans the year before when it was first introduced!!!
I assumed that the RS and now the RSR are built to the same way from Porsche. But maybe not? |

At the presentation of the RSR at the Oschersleben round last year one of the Porsche guys told me that there is no chance to update from the RS to the RSR like it was possible from the R to the RS because the RSR is no evolution, its a revolution.
But i think it is possible to order all the parts and make you own update. |

Maybe a hybrid if you can't fork over the $$$ for a brand new car? In a sense, a GT3RS"B" instead of a full RSR.
