Raoul Duke should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Stewart finishes 15th..........

and he wasn't even IN the car.

Pretty sweet deal . I didn't know you could do it. Maybe I'll try out for a race and then drop out after the first lap. If my relief driver wins, then I'll get all the credit...not bad .

Stewart was lucky that he didn't get clobbered hard from behind when that car came up into traffic. He might have been using relief drivers for months if that had happened (which poses another interesting question, if someone gets hurt can they be relieved for a number of races just to collect points).

DW was talking about a race he actually won after taking over for Donnie Allison. I remember Rusty Wallace almost winning at Talladega with Ricky Rudd's car in '86 too...

Whoever starts the race...gets the points for the race. So yes, a driver who is hurt but in the championship chase could start al lthe races & hop out & still get credit for all the points received for the race.

They had to help Stewart out of car, he ran a great race until he started hurting and got weak. You must start race to get driver points, but the car can start w/diff. driver and owner gets points.

Tony spun out right in front of us (coming out of turn 2), he had help, he spun around sharply and it had to really hurt those sore muscles, tony now has close to 2 weeks to heal some more, I would not bet against him at Texas.
