Jens Hansen - Danish sportscar driver killed at Jyllandsringen

Hi guys,

this afternoon a Danish sportscar driver was killed at Grand Prix Denmark.

Jens Hansen, driving a Porsche 996 GT3, on Jyllandsringen under todays qualifying in Special Saloon Car at Grand Prix Denmark. When his Porsche slid of the track in T1, hitting into the armco with rear right corner first, before the side of the car hit the armco side on.

The Doctor and rescuers hurried to the scene, and Jens was hurried to the local hospital. But unfortunately his injuries was too severe. It seems that the accident was caused by a defect on the car, as the car was travelling at a slow speed.

Jens Hansen was in the lead of the championship, and he has more than 20 years of experience. Jenas also participated in international events as Divinol Cup and other events. But the freak accident always is always waiting to happen.

Needless to say, the rest of the weekend will held in memory of Jens and with thougths going to Jens friends and family! Jens leaves a wife and three children.

I just need to write this, to get it out of my system. I hope that you fellow racers will spare a thought.

Thank you!
