http://www.a1gp.com/News/NewsArticle.aspx?newsId=34188 - updated with the drivers for Zandvoort (there'll be a race weekend thread soon no doubt). Speed is reporting that Buddy Rice will be in for USA as well.

You can also add Chris Alajajian for Lebanon. The schedule is also out - surprisingly there's no A1GP sessions on Friday? There's two practice sessions for early Saturday though, and no sign of a rookie session... |

The fact that there is no A1GP running on Friday is something to do with noise restrictions. I guess the support categories don't make as much noise.

Hey, a Zandvoort thread! Good enough Cos, thanks for opening it. Needing to get into A1GP mode anyway.
Hinchcliffe confirmed for Canada this weekend (and I'm as shocked as you are). There's no mention of Wickens in the article, or any other rookie for that matter, seems a bit curious. We'll see how the new team shakes out soon enough I suppose, but I'd have hoped they'd be gunning for more than just top ten. But, what're ya gonna do? I'm still liking the new livery. |

Duran is down to race for Mexico - given the showing of their other potential drivers in the pre-season tests I think they've made the right choice...

i would put my coins on Jani and Vietoris for this season opening, but I must also recognize that SOuth Africa and Brazil can impress at the races with their good Gp2 drivers.

Brazil were not that quick in testing.
Surely GBR and NZL will be right up there, and you cannot write off NED at their home track. L2LO, what is a shock about Hinchcliffe driving? |

I meant it sarcastically Kiwi. But thank you for the opportunity to clear that up.

USA and Australia have had a coming together in the first segment. However, with the new rules the clock still keeps counting down despite the red flag!

Thanks for the heads-up Jon.
Live timing and audio commentary only at A1GP.com (although audio's not coming up yet). A video link's not even an option at the moment. If someone could check their TVU for video, I'd un-uninstall it. |

Now there's a top tip, thanks for that Cos. Maybe between that and A1GP, we'll actually get to watch a race.
Boy, Zandvoort Holland. I need a vacation. |

What's wrong with Buddy Rice? He is at least 5 seconds off the pace. In qualifying for race 1 he was over 7 seconds!?! That's a lot! I never rated him that highly, but 7 seconds? To be honest, I think when you race IRL for so long you lose something talent wise. we saw that with Herta at Laguna Seca in A1GP and with Barron & Yasukawa in Grand-Am. I think you become so smooth for IRL that you forget how to push a car to a 4-wheel drift and use the brakes to their maximum. There must be some explaination, because this is pretty pathetic!
On the other hand, i'm glad Khan is back! That Nur Ali guy was a complete Milka Dunno! |

DAMS takes the first 2 places. I think they will both play a big role in the championship.
Looks like it will be an interesting Feature and I think Jeroen has a good shot at finishing on the podium. Great directing by A1 like always, those gridshots were great. |
