You can hire cars for the championship from £650+VAT for a day
As an ownerdriver - £10-12k for a car and spares, assuming you are to do all the work yourself can be as little as £300 for a day out.

Both the above don't include tyres - £400 a set - although you are limited to 2 new ones per meeting. Engines are bullet proof and should last for several 1000s miles....and also the engines are very reliable if you are looking to get plenty of mileage in.

Overall, I would say there is very little difference in running costs between a zetec and kent FF.

If you want more specific details on the above PM me.

With the hiring of the cars does that 650 included damage or insurance?

My team charges £950 per race, this includes insurance but not the entry. ( Double headers work out better value for money, costs are £1,400) One of our cars was competing in the Avon races on Sun in the Pre 99 class, Ian finished 8th overall in the first race, and got to 6th in the second before spinning to last, but he eventually took a class win. It was the red Van Diemen RF98 with Barry Pomfret Motorsport on the side pods.

Yeah I saw it, did very well, looked very competitive.

Does 950 include accident damage?

Are you just running the one car?

The price includes insurance which covers accident damage however the insurance company has £500 excess on any claim, in other words you end up paying the first £500 if there is any damage. We have two cars, the other car is out this weekend in the Mono 1800 race at Silverstone but is still available for the Avon Clubman rounds.

So you have to pay the first 500?

Thats still very resonable, what has cheaper entry fees Mono or Clubamns?
