There are plenty of teams who could run cars, but all dependent on a driver coming along with a budget. |

I can't understand the idea of this series, three touring car championships in Britain is too much for this country! Not surprising that the entry lists in both TCR and TCT are so miserable.

Best thing would be for TCR and TCT to merge

The best hope then is the TCR teams join TCT instead

Apparently 8 signed up for round 1 with a potential for 6 more.

It's precisely why Stewart set it up. A small number of meetings plus older cars equals significantly less cost. Which opens up racing to more mere mortals that aren't rolling in cash. Or indeed don't have the luxury of time for 10 long weekends + sponsor commitments + testing.
Whereas a new TCR car is damned expensive, and as has been said before it's possible to go BTCC racing on similar budget (yes, I do mean #HARD, not WSR). Running in BTCC even if it's nearer the back than the front is far more impressive than running round a deserted racetrack competing against nobody anybody ever heard of. Or TCR UK as it's otherwise known. |

The October date at Snetterton has been changed to TBA on the TCT website.

People still aren't seeing the bigger picture here.
TCR UK isn't far off the costs of a full blown BTCC campaign, both of which are a massive jump over the usual feeder series (Minis, Clios, VW Cup). TCT will be a little bit more than VW Cup and Minis and also get people into 'proper' touring cars which are potentially the same spec as the current cars being raced. This gives people unfamiliar with proper touring cars the opportunity to raced in those types of car against more of the same. Think of it as almost a junior series to TCR UK and BTCC. That is exactly what the Neal's/Dynamics are doing, pull an old car out of the shed, dust it off and stick a bambino in. Come the end of the year, he will have raced on the majority of the BTCC tracks and Dynamics will know if he is good enough to take over from Papa Neal. Also, ideal for the gentleman racer (ala Mr Lines) who wants to go racing in decent machinery but without spunking 300k a year for the pleasure. |

I think some people don’t see this is a club series
TCR UK is supposed to be a feeder to the BTCC ahead of all the one make championships. This is a series for ex cars or cars lying around. Although I was surprised to hear Neal SR would be entering it, although it would make sense for Dynamics It’s a club series for ex BTCC cars and some TCR cars. As for Lines, he’s probably still hoping to get a BTCC seat |

I hadn't thought about a junior series - maybe Up! GTIs? A Polo/Ibiza wouldn't be that much cheaper to build over a Golf (also there is 2 Polos already running in VW Cup)

Wouldn't need to be VAG... I'm sure other superminis would fit the bill, will be lots of second hand Clios looking for somewhere to play nice after this season. Having said that, it would be a good way of promoting the now standalone Cupra badge on the Ibiza if VAG/SEAT were to throw a bit of financial support.

Why couldn't they balance those Cup series to race each other?
Clio Cup, Mini Challenge and similar sized cup cars that races through the Europe. I think there was idea about TC something series in Germany that will be 'feeder' to TCR but as I know nothing happened with that. |

No. The Cruze Cup is still running.
The old organisation from the DTC wants to start a new class, the LC Light. Eligitable would be cars like the VW Polo, Mazda 2, Opel Corsa. The Cars would be fitted with the Clio Cup Engine and Gearbox. |

So many one make series, only one I really cared about was the Clio Cup, but that’s now going

The MINI championship is pretty good too - and that's what's replacing the Clios on the TOCA package. Given the relative grid sizes of the Clios and MINIs over the last few years it could well be an improvement.

That's true, Minis should be a good replacement
