I hadn't seen that! Kind of unfair when we had no choice in what vaccine we were given. (An AZ recipient here)

I am due to get my second dose of AstraZeneca here in France on Monday, so I rather hope not!

I've had one dose, Moderna . . . . I can't go to Aus apparently . . . We were due to go last summer.

Its madness. You'd have thought the WHO would have a guidline on what works and whats snake oil.

personally I've written this year off for anything exciting, may get a gig in if I'm lucky, but no travel and no motorsport. . . .we do have a virtually new house though. . . so happy to be there. Just hoping the weather improves so I can enjoy the Cote D'Adur

No worry, John, our country follows EMA advice, AZ/Moderna/ J&J and Pfizer are officially accepted.
You can expect the list to be longer soon because this agency is located in Amsterdam!

Is'nt Belgium a dark red area ATM?

Don't know what is meant by Belgium being a dark red area - is it anything to do with Eau Rouge?

if the 14-day cumulative COVID-19 case notification rate is 500 or more'

We are so close to the sea we'll wash ashore in France if we do flood. We're Closer to Dieppe than half of London

That will make some Canadians happier.

However, I see a report that the USA vaccine giveaway to the rest of the world will not include AZ, even though they apparently have a few million doses in stock, because they have not yet approved it for use.

There is one producer in the US apparently.

So as it is widely approved and they don't seem to want to use it nor needed, why not send it elsewhere in the giveaway?

One can think of few logical reasons for the reticence that are not based on "not invented here" syndrome but have spread into areas of wider consideration.

That's fine ... but if all other countries do the same as they struggle to escape the effects of years of lockdown economic effects the world may start to look like a very different place for reasons that people are not expecting.

Most Belgians seem to be holidaying in the Pas de Calais at the moment so Belgium is probably quite safe to visit just now.

Most of them will probably be heading to the Isla de la Cartuja in Seville, Spain next so even safer.
