These SC starts in F2 have destroyed the races. 4 laps in and not 1 overtake yet.
Since when has speed in the pits not been a drive through? Russell and Aitken given 5 second penalties. Last edited by tux; 7 Jul 2018 at 15:08. |

I enjoyed Eddie Jordan's little film on Channel 4 with Williams and McClaren..and then to stand in front of Zak Brown. Give Zak his dues..he's a professional talker...that one earned his money today and took the crap on the nose, but faced it well. Wow..Claire Williams passion..loved it. Williams must rebound back and keep their name...I even got a little emotional!!

Both Williams having rear wing problems, makes sense by the way they went off

Looks like the Vettel effect has caught on in F2 as well. Ferrucci deliberately drives into Maini on the slow down lap.
FiA has to take most of the blame here. They set the precedent when they handed Vettel a pathetic penalty (10 seconds) when he deliberately drove into Hamilton in Baku 2017, so now the junior formulas don't fear being handed a hefty penalty for deliberate crashing into other drivers. Similar incidents in the past resulted in grid drops. Which is what should happen, and should've happened to Vettel for Baku last year. But we now have the drivers in the junior categories thinking it's ok to deliberately run into other drivers?? Well done FiA. |

That was initially a clean start, with Vettel taking the lead but Lewis went off at Turn 3 having made contact with Kimi. Both have rejoined the race but Lewis is about 16th.

Kimi gets a 10 second penalty, for contact with Lewis.

Holy crap could they be an more bs this morning? Previous races no penalty on opening laps, today 10 seconds instead of previous 5 second penalty that had been issued. Then dealing with Lewis whining like a child that his car is broken and yet passing everyone he approaches and his team saying it's fine. Useless useless race and turned off

I think the reason for the 10 seconds rather than 5 is because of the advantage of going down the pits rather than taking the final corners.
Almost farcical how fast the Mercedes and Ferrari are compared to the midfield. Hamilton drove through the pack like they weren't there. |

First FCY as Ericsson has a big off at Turn 1. That's both Saubers out. Vettel makes a tyre stop.

Cautions breed cautions and its another FCY as Grosjean and Sainz make contact just after the restart.

Congrats to Vettel, liked to have seen Kimi make it a 1 -2 for Ferrari but you can't have everything.

Enjoyed the race but expected the heat to have more of an effect on the cars, apart from accidents cars were all very reliable

And yet every year is closer than the previous. We had two cars lapping the rest of the field twice in the 90s. |
