I hope it's not adorned with that Acura beak, but they're actually moving away from that on their road cars. Wonder what engine they'll use? If the class continues to grow, I hope imsa eases up on the bop. We don't need specific wing angles and gurney heights etc.

It's being run as a Honda, not an Acura.

No. It absolutely is. It's a Honda(HPD) project.

Right, but remember Hpd did the Acura ARX p2 and p1's. And hpd currently help with the Acura NSX GT3. Same thing really. All the difference is in a name, like the NSX being a Honda overseas vs an Acura in America. I don't care either way, just hope it's a decent looking package.

It depends on who is paying the bills...Honda Co. or American Honda.
Honda has no sports cars in America so promoting Acura makes more since.

Unless they get ACO/FIA to let them race with it at the LM24 then badged H makes more since.

Not what I heard from AHM/HPD.There comp is a luxury brand Cadillac.So Cady vs Acura would be better marketing.

If it's going to be a Honda,what body are they going to use......Civic Type R or maybe Odyssey?(Honda's only sport model in USA, the NSX is an Acura in USA)

Well. What you've "heard" is wrong. They only need to use "styling cues" from the brand. It doesn't have to be labeled as anything, and, as we've seen with Nissan, it's a pretty broad brush in terms of cues.

Who freaking cares what decals they paste on it? As for "styling cues," pretty obviously there is a Lot of latitude there .... and who cares? I Hope the cars look good--To Me--but what I Really want is good racing, with no BoP fiddling, with a lot of strongly supported programs, broadcast so that people watch it and enjoy it, so the series survives a while.

Penske is the consummate professional--though he is pretty old,and not doing so much actual management. Still the organization is one of the best. No way it can do anything but help the series.

Having Honda on board, under any name, is also a really good thing.

As for "better marketing ... " Who knows? Maybe Honda will figure it already has Acuras in PWC and IMSA GTD and will want to get the Honda name out there as well? Who knows? Who knows what buyers of each brand might respond to?

I don't care anyway. Put fast cars on track and race them.

I agree the most important thing is the Racing, but it's nice to have a car you can say does have the general aesthetic of the mfg.

That said, I don't think any of the current cars are lacking. Yeh the ESM could have looked more like the Nissan P1 but I'm not bothered

Like all over the place. This must have been another occasion where the team showed Imsa the car and Imsa asked them to do a better job. More stickers should fix that right up.
