Its the 10th Anniversary meeting of Wakefield Park this weekend, the 2nd round of the Touring Car Challenge... with a strong entry list for the weekend:

There is a grid walk, and plenty of opportunity to get up close and see the cars... there is some nicely presented machinery, and history of the sport in this class

Actually Hillsy isnt on my list, but I presume given the 2 Hills Mondeos are running, that the owner may give himself a gig....

GTR I would love to see these cars race, but travelling over 3 borders 4 times in 1 week is a bit much even for me.

10th anniversary, time flies, I remember being involved in the running of the first speed event on the circuit.

Is this going to be a category for only old V8 supercars to continue to compete after their Konica days?
There are no more Super Tourers being brought into the country (or built for that matter), and more Future Tourers coming to life would be rare.

I can see this the Touring Car Challenge becoming a third-tear V8 league ... Is this a good thing or a bad thing?

Ah, well I saw that the sponsorship was Kitome/Lubrimaxx, and presumed it may have had something to do with Mr T.Wyhoon somehow

I dont know if moving the whole V8Supercar Konica field into this kind of thing is good or bad, there are some nice cars in the field, some are museum pieces (like the M3) and others have a racing pedigree, albeit not a very successful one (Mondeos, Primeras...)

GTR, Terry is always helping Leigh out, even drives the car to the Dummy Grid when its raced at State level meets.

Leigh was my old history teacher at high school plus i alsow catch up with him at the supermarket where i work

i wasnt aware terry helped him out though, good for that, thats awesome.

Care to share some reminiscences about that first event? What sort of cars, numbers in fields etc....
