Great Race and Result!

Worth being tired at work all day today... The great thing was not only did Marcos win it was an awesome race to boot! The nerves were tingling as the strategy played out throughout the race and then that last restart with Keselowski, Ambrose and Busch 3 wide... simply awesome. Hopefully this will the confidence from winning will be the final ingredient to help him over the line on an oval, I hope he gets it done!
Cheers,
Simon

Congratulations Marcos! I'm sure a lot of Tenthers here have been following his journey for the past 6 years, and it comes as a wonderful relief to everyone for him to finally achieve what he set out to do. Next stop, winning on ovals, and after that, perhaps a Sprint Cup Championship?

A man can dream...

A highlights package has usually been replayed the next day on OneHD, but it doesnt seem to be the case this week

Of interest, it appears that Mr Ambrose is a genuine shot at making the Chase for the championship this season.

According to Mr Ambrose's PR group....

...if Mr Keselowski can drag his Miller Lite Penske Dodge into the top-10, Mr Hamlin in his FedEx JGR Toyota would most likely be offered the first wildcard into the Chase by way of his number of wins.

A second wildcard then becomes available...

...which then leaves Mr Ambrose to edge out Mr Menard's Menards RCR Chevrolet and Mr Ragan's UPS Rouse-Fenway Ford, without either of those guys winning another of the next two races...

...which Mr Ambrose is only 5 points from doing right now.

We could have a 2 time V8Supercar champion in the final 12 drivers in the "Chase for the Sprint Cup"

Maybe

GTR, you are correct, but there is one more alternative, He wins one of the next 3 races. which should just about gurantee him a spot if he stays inside the top 20.

We have decided to use his picture as part of our Bathurst T shirt this year, along with another current driver

Only 2 more races left til the Chase starts... and while its absolutely the right answer competitively, not totally sure the #9 Stanley-DeWalt RPM Ford is quite up to the task...

woops forgot to reset after the last round.

I think though, unless he wins, he will struggle to make it, apart from the win (and i agree with you about the likelihood) he has to hope that Brad can make up 21 points on tony stewart which in NASCAR is about the points for half a round.

Tony Stewart's recent form is- 27, 9, 28
Brad Keselowski's recent form is- 2, 3, 1

...and then the second part of the equation-
Paul Menard's recent form- 32, 26, 30
David Ragan's recent form- 28, 12, 20
Marcos's recent form- 1, 27, 10

...and of course a win next week for Marcos would really help out, especially his bank account, as he is qualified for the Sprint Summer Showdown.

Marcos has had some solid form on the 1.5 mile ovals this year- 4th in Las Vegas, 6th in Texas, & 6th in Charlotte.

Even though he has finished every race this year, he has been crashed into at Daytona, Martinsville, Talladega, Daytona (2) and Michigan, and had transmission issues at Pocono and Indy... without those, he would have stats very close to what Denny Hamlin currently has, who is currently 13th in the standings.

Fingers crossed y'all!
