Phoenix1 should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
and 8th place goes to a ... no it can't be?

Congratulations to Minardi on the point. I am very 'appy for the team. Have to redo the points per million now. This means that they are offically in the championship now! May the good times role... image if Bruni has survived lap 1 as well!

I think that Baumgartner would've been the first Hungarian to score world championship points which is a major achievement, my congratulations to both driver & team.

Well done. Attrition or not, the guy was smart enough to keep his nose clean and finally Minardi can celebrate again. Well done to Zsolt and the team.

Zolst. Did I get it right? Or is it Zsolt? Could it be Zoslt? Buggered if I know but if he gets anymore results I guess we'll have to learn how to spell it!

Peter it is actually Zsolt. The interesting part is that he was only 3 laps down. I know there were 2 SC periods and all, I still think it is a big achievement. Anyway, I have a small part in this as I managed him for a while so I am more than happy for him. :-)

Congratulations to Baumgartner. Nice to see he was there at the end as others crashed and suffered problems.

The first time Minardi have scored under this points system which was designed to aid such teams.

Good point.

It used to be they needed cars to breakdown or crash. Now with the current reliability of the other cars they can only rely on crashes. They got those today.

Does this mean Minardi will have their travel costs subsidized next year? Is this system still in place?

I must say that given the financial problems of small teams like Minardi and Jordan, i am glad they get a point and would qualify for financial benefits from Bernie and co.

However, sorry to spoil the party, but Minardi kinda lucked into this point Still, it's deserved (at least they kept the car running to the end) and there's no crime in it

Congrats to Minardi...Paul is visibly pleased that he can now go to bed in peace

I don't think that Stoddard would care that they lucked the point as it is a championship point none the less.

Indeed, and well done to them. He stayed out of trouble and finished the race, and not too far behind for a Minardi I might add.

CleanTone did he pass anybody on this race??? At the start he got the better of Bruni and at the starts he is usually pretty good, but of course after a couple of laps gets repassed. One should not forget that he sits in a Minardi. His car is about 1,2 s slower than even Jordan, I mean what do you except??

I think it was well deserved.

For a couple of races he has been finishing races, in fact working hard just in case he would get in a position like this.

So some luck was involved in achieving this point.
But it also involved a lot of hard work.
