Why would I choose to avoid a place of business, because they sponsor a team I don't follow?

It's just absurd.

My dear old dad came close to that once. A long time cricket tragic he cracked the sh!ts with Pura milk after they renamed the Sheffield Shield the Pura Milk Cup. Maximising corporate opportunities and dollars were apparently more important to CA than respecting a hundred plus years of history and an iconic trophy.

Obviously its not the same with the V8's as they have pretty much trashed any links to the ATCC but nonetheless there is a right way and a wrong way to go about sponsorship.

Do any Ford fans drink Red Bull? Or do they avoid it on the basis of their sponsorship of the works Holden team?
(I dont drink Red Bull but that is cos I dont particularly like it!)

As much as I like JB (the man) I have to wonder why JB (the company) would sponsor him? Yeah I know they share initials but that still wouldn’t get the deal over the line if I was a marketing manager. Maybe someone younger and with more mainstream appeal like Mostert or McLaughlin but not John Bowe.

.

Not the first time I’ve heard that about Bunnings and sponsorship. It’s a bit of a head scratcher-personally I’ll support any business that sponsors any team in this series even if it’s not one I overly support. Consider it this humble fans way of saying thanks for helping a team get trackside. Especially in this age where sponsorship is even harder to find (Shrugs)

So will Bunnings branding be predominately appearing on the Team 18 car, with the bills being paid by Irwin (and others)?

Supercheap still operate that model today, Kmart did likewise at Gibson and TWR.

I'm tipping that Bunnings have come via Stanley Black & Decker, the owners of Irwin. Maybe "Available at Bunnings" style signage. In return for prominent shelf space?

People have strange reasons for not buying products.

I haven't purchased any BP products since they changed their logo in 2000. I didn't like the look of it and what started as a joke has continued for nearly 20 years.

Also, I have never visited Crown Casino - not because I have something against gambling, but the fact that no-one else can build a casino to compete with them.

And I've never bought a Holden............

Perhaps Bunnings will have a sausage sizzle at each round , to fund the foray in Virgin Supercars.

Q&A: Tander on his GRM exit and full-time career
https://www.supercars.com/news/champ...l-time-career/

Obviously all of the Boost stuff has taken place, completely without my knowledge and while I was away on holidays, just after Christmas, Garry texted me and said 'when are you back, we need to have a meeting'.
I was like, 'yeah, no problems, back beginning of January, happy to meet', thinking full well it was discussing plans for this year and all of the rest of it.
I walked into a meeting and was given the news about Boost and that I'd no longer be driving full-time.
Obviously at that point you could have knocked me over with a feather

Which onion supplier will feature on the car?

The first OH&S-approved produce supplier in Australia

Interesting to read in today’s Telegraph that Mr Winterbottom is set to shake down his new ride next Tuesday, in a handover session with 888.

It seems (although not shared in that article) that the ZB homologation muletto used to get aero sign off, and raced by Mr Whincup in Pukekohe last year, is headed Team18’s way.

I remember being so parochial as a kid that I would protest against Mobil purchases by my parents when a perfectly good Shell station was about the same distance away and would help to sponsor Dick Johnson. Still kind of have that if I'm honest
