RotorFan should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
So the idea is the same as the original Adelaide 500? Cars enter Parc Ferme at the end of "Part A"? Otherwise you can just do your pit stop for fuel between races....

I reckon that there'll possibly be another update with revised tyre allocation.
The Part A sounds like a waste of time.

I would not be surprised if they have a stupid rule where 2 pitstops and 100L must go in over the TWO parts of the race

What changes are there for the pit lane setup? I wouldnt think the V8 lads will be bailling over a knee high fence for the first time? Did the Indy Car pits have much more in the way of room than the other end of the pit lane?

It's pretty much an identical set up to Adelaide now- straight out the front of the garages.

It is great that there will not be yawning gaps in the program however the event is more than half the event it was.

I am not sure 'freakin sweet' is an appropriate description of the 2009 event, no matter how many v8 races you can watch in 2 days.

garbo6 should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
The new supp regs are out on the V8 website, with more than the schedule.

As GTRMagic stated.

The Race Leg B is set from the finishing position of Leg A.
A 50L Refuelling Pit Stop per leg.

Points: The aggregate points achieved in Legs 1 & 2, will become the VCS points for the race. So the winner of Leg 2 may not be the winner of the race.

Points for each leg are
75-69-65-60-56-51-48-45-42-39-36-35-33-32-30-29-27-26-24-23-21-20-18-117-15-14-12-11-9-7.

Also worth noting that during a race, any driver who cuts a chicane and achieves a sector time less than those detailed may be penalized by the Stewards.
Sector 1: 0m49s
Sector 2: 1m23s
Sector 3: 1m50s
Note: Stewards at their sole discretion may amend these times should circuit, weather, or other conditions require.

So they can cut chicanes, so long as they don't improve on that time. What if they have a spin in that sector? They can just drive straight through the chicane to make up time.

What about during qualifying then...

This scoring they've adopted is a bit of a shamozzle.

Well I'd assume they'd take into account the spin, other incidents that would affect the lap time.

On qualifying: The lap time of any lap during any practice or qualifying session on which a driver cuts a chicane will not be recorded.

MOTOR SPORT legend Sir Jack Brabham was inducted into the Gold Coast Sporting Hall of Fame on track at the SuperGP this morning when it was announced his grandson would pay tribute to him with a race.

Sir Brabham will watch on proudly as his grandson Matthew races around the Surfers Paradise street circuit on Sunday in one of his original race car.

Matthew will drive his grandfather's 1964 race car and will push it the last 100m across the line as a tribute to Sir Brabham's famous move to clinch the 1959 world championship.

Triple world champion Sir Brabham was the first driver in history to be knighted for his services to motorsport.

He was the only Formula One driver to have won a world title in a car of his own construction - the BT19 which he drove to victory in 1966.

But it was his famous never-say-die attitude in the final race of the 1959 season that cemented his spot in history.

He clinched the championship at the United States Grand Prix at Sebring when he famously pushed his car over the line after running out of fuel while leading on the last lap.

This morning, Sir Brabham said it was a `great honour' to be inducted into the hall of fame.

``We are going to have a great weekend,'' he said.

Gold Coast Sporting Hall of Fame president Daphne Pirie said Sir Brabham was chosen as a legend because of his contribution to motor sport and the community.

``We've only inducted three legends in over 10 years,'' she said.

``The Gold Coast is full of champions but not all of them put back into the community.''
