Funny that the exclusive story is released just days before the Island 300 an event hasn't been setting the sports pages alight.
We have always known that Phelps is no more an expert than the greyhound journalist that he replaced at news limited, but it seems he isn't even writing his own stupid material. I think it's sent down the line from someone at V8 HQ and he just verifies that it makes no sense to him before he is prepared to put his name to it.... Surely there would be no other major sport with such an ill-informed expert on the masthead at our major newspaper. Peter McKay on the other hand has some knowledge and is an ex-Bathurst competitor, but everything he writes is still seen through TOCA and CART goggles from 15 years ago. Surely someone contemporary and in the know like Noonz could write a weekly column for a small fee ??

The first PMM version 888 Commodore is said to be following a similar time line, but the second is and will be some time behind. Potentially only 1 PMM/888 commodore will be ready for the Middle East.

the Telecrap should sack Phelps save on his wage and hire me as i'll do it for a very small fee. i make as much sense at that git (so i'm told) so it would be a seamless transition but atleast i am passionate about the bloody sport and follow it.

Funny but Mr Phelps referred to the race as the Phillip Island "500" in yesterday's Telecrap.

And the subbies in the editing room missed it too.

That does show a major step forward for Mr Phelps though, actually writing his articles rather than being fowarded them by Mr Hitchcock. After that performance though I am sure we will return to the flawless media coverage provided by V8SA media department

I dont agree with the new dunlop control rubber, may be a little hard. At least they are localizing with parts to cut cost.

Here's a quick mocked up overlay on a Commodore...

Purely for research purposes as the saying goes...

The pic of the racer is larger you can't see the 10 cm discrepancy with those pics!

Haven't you learnt anything, a commodore supercar is clearly not a commodore shell, you can not overlay them 9/10 for effort.

I just like how the VE Commodore was too long against the BF Falcon, so they cut the middle of the rear door out... Then the new FG Falcon was too long against the VE Commordore, so they cut the middle of the rear door out of that one too...

So all we've ended up with a two cars that are both equally shorter then their road going cousins... Why??

They dont make short-@ss wheelbase falcons or commodores, or cars with rigid rear axles. Nor do they make 5 litre v8's... you'd be hard pressed getting 17" wheels on anything but the base models of both of those cars...

I did find it humerous though that the 888 commodore had its headlights on... That would be a shared component!
