The FIA GT3 homologation requires the approval of the manufacturer. At least that was my understanding.

truth shoul be in the middle. I know an engineer who worked for reiter and he told me that GM hadn't any role in the production of car (I mean the camaro gt3), indeed the engine isn't even supplied by GM but by katech. If you tell me this, I guess that GM gave the approval but didn't give any support.
So far, callaway is the official corvette GT3 tuner, licensed and somehow supported by GM itself. I just think that if GM will enter in the european GT3 market, is very unlikely they will keep on supporting callaway! they just will focus on selling the cadillac to customers. Callaway will get the approval from GM to produce the C7 GT3, but won't be the official tuner anymore.
Anyway this is just my opinion, it can be that GM will sell the cadillac on their own, still supporting callaway... more or less like VW has done for years with R8/gallardo.

BMW was still supporting Alpina with their B6 GT3 eventhough BMW had their own GT3, the Z4 GT3.

I think Callaway will get some form of support from GM. Why? The Corvette and the Caddy aren't exactly competeing for market shares. The Camaro is however a much more viable competitor to the Caddy on the market.

I think you have that backwards. None of these GM racing models compete directly for the same demographics, but no one is cross-shopping a Camaro and a Cadillac (or any luxury car).

I would really enjoy to see Caddilac taking on Spa, Nurburgring, Dubai and Bathurst with a two car set up. Maybe success at those prestige events could lead to private teams entering some of the GT3 series around the world.

Great idea. I know they will focus on the PWC season, but Johnny O had been wanting to do the N24 for a while with GM. Adding those other enduros you mention would beef up the prestige of the ATS for sure.

I strongly dubt that we will see a Caddy race in FIAGT3 in Europe, but then I was 100% sure that we would have seen at least one Viper in Blancpain, either in sprint or endurance this year but no ?

Does Riley have a European partner that acts/could act as a distributor? If not, then perhaps that is off-putting for European teams because it would mean parts would have to be shipped in from the US as they were needed, or the team would have to spend up front for a big spares package to ensure they wouldn't have to wait for parts to be delivered.

I was surprised we didn't see more of the GT3 Vipers too. The older CC seemed pretty popular over there and I would have thought that with GT3 being the same mix of cars in every series that a team might have snatched a few up and used the fact that they were the only Vipers on the grid as a selling point to drivers/sponsors being able to stand out more than yet another 458/SLS/Z4/R8.

I don't think we will see any Cadillacs in privateer hands either though, as much as I would like to. This seems more like a factory PWC effort than it does an effort to build and sell a GT3 car.

I did see a video of a viper testing at spa recently, but that is literally the only one i know of over here in Europe at the moment. Not even sure what team it was to be honest.

EDIT: It was R Team Raceart

In your opinion, what would be the team/partner, english, just to Jaguar?
Bentley with M-Sport and Jaguar?
