There was an interesting comment last week from a motoring journalist regarding the recently sacked ‘Alliance’ boss. The (well respected) journo in question has been around for many years (Not quite as old as me though....) and has interviewed virtually all past and current motor manufacturer head honchos.

His opinion was that almost without exception, they were interesting to talk to, communicated well and had excellent PR skills. Except one......

Very few chances in fact and this is only the visible part of a giant iceberg. We have people with genuine pain here, many retired having to ask help from children or neighbors just to survive.

Well it's a sad thing but most of the EU is suffering due to low employment and high taxation. Sadly many in the UK can't or won't accept that position and blindly insist that all is well over the water. Well ask Greece, Italy, Portugal and to a lesser extent, Spain. Their woes have become a contagion across the EU. Now France and Germany are unwillingly having to pay.

I knew I could count on you, Ami Robert. But it wouldn't be a fair deal, nobody can replace "your" John.

I guess you can see bad images coming from Paris and can't say its not true. It might even be worse than you can imagine. We thought having found a leader, expecting no miracle but good moves forward. He is not a leader. Exacerbating factor is that he forgot the first reason why people voted for him. We all are fed up with politics. We all know that solving our problems wont be that simple and specialists are requested. Not politicians. Then he came from nowhere. Just saying, no more right, no more left, just join and let's go back to work to build a better society. He is "just" one of the best politicians ever. The kind we dont need, the kind we dont want.

When trying hard one tended to move closer to the front of the saddle where the leather was rivetted to the frame, hence 'On the rivet.'
Nowadays it is all plastic and I doubt if there is a rivet in sight.
