Lola T88/50 F3000 - Tracing Hhstory
Lola T88/50 F3000 single seater. Originally owner by GA Motorsport, was driven by Gregor Foitek was the car that came together with Johnny Herberts car at Brands Hatch 1988 resulting in the infamous accident. I bought it through Race Car Warehouse (Kevin McLurg). Its previous owner was based near Magny Cour race circuit. Does anyone know where it has been between end of the 1988 F3000 season up to 2003. Its chassis info is as follows:
Manufacturer: Lola T88/50 Chassis: No 7 Gearbox: FGB 152 Original Purchaser: GA Motosport |

According to the F1Register's results, it was retained by GA Motorsport for 1989, and race for them in the British F3000 championshiup by Jonathan Bancroft.
I have it noted as being driven by South African Mike Bryan at Brands in May 1990, but unfortunately I don't who the entrant was there. Sorry that doesn't take you much further. |

Ah - Mike Bryan. He raced in South African Formula GTI during the early 90's. I think that he crashed out of his only F3000 race?

Well he finished 8th in this one, but he did crash one of Roger Orgee's Reynard's in practice at Brands the previous year. They are the one 2 F3000 races I have for him.

Peter,
According to F1R / Autosport, Wilson raced the ex Amati/Bellefroid HU12 at the Brands race in June 89. Bancroft was using HU7 in this race. |

This car i believe was used for hillclimbing and sprinting in france. I had thought it was owned by Antoine Lombardo, but he confirmed he still has his car and wants to sell it. Any idea how many Lola T88/50's were manufactured ?

Peter,
Highest chassis number I've seen is HU30, but I don't know about the Japanese series chassis. |
