Looking for someone to restore Race Car

Hi,

I've been out of the racing scene for over 10-years, but recently bought a rear engined Mallock sports racing car, to ease myself back in.

The car needs stripping, chassis repainting, and every component checked, cleaned and refreshed as they go back on.

With it being a space-frame chassis, clad in aluminium, it's a fairly straight forward proposition, although someone with attention to detail and knowledge of Hewland type gearboxes, preferred.

I live in Lincolnshire, so looking for a restoration business not a million miles away.

Does anyone out there have a recommendation, please?

Thanks in advance.

Ewen Sergison is quite close - Avit Motorsport, near Lincoln.

He's en-route to Monaco for the Historic GP so may not get back to you immediately.

Ah, that would explain why I haven't heard from him. Thanks for letting me know.

Hi,

Not many rear engined Mallocks were made so it's probably one of the old National Supersports cars, has it got a Vauxhall 2.0L in it?

Obviously Mallock themselves could do it for you, they're near Northampton you'll pay a proper pro price though.
Clubmans cars aren't that difficult to work on, I'm just finishing rebuilding a Phantom, which is one of the competitors on the Mallock.
Shame you're not in the Midlands or I might be able to help you out.

You could try Nick Day in Saxilby. 07551 601959. Very experienced with older racing cars.

Try Graham Probyn near Uttoxeter.
https://www.midlandraceandrally.com/

Highly knowledgeable and professional and not expensive either.
Has built, prepared, restored and engineered cars from club level stuff to LMP2 via GT4 Astons, Historic F3, TVR Tuscans, F Fords, Caterhams, Super Vee etc etc.
I can’t recommend him highly enough.
