FIA F2 Bahrain 2019
I think its time for the race thread for the F2 cars and I am looking forward to these cars in action.
I wonder how Mick Schumacher and G. Alesi get on at a track that both do not know

The answer is, neither did anything amazing although Mick did a 'sensible' in the 2nd race job and Alesi pulled a couple of good moves.
Unfortunately the depth of talent is below that of 2018.

Speaking of Alesi his car was DQ for his team putting on wrong tyres and there was another penalty handed out Raghunathan got a 10 place grid penalty. 1st he stalled (but did the right thing in waving hands) then got lapped and he should have pitted on his 22nd lap as race was over but someone forgot to tell him the race was over as he did one more lap at racing speed and retook the checked flag which triggers the penalty for Baku

Not really sure how Ragu gets a licence. Well off the pace in anything he has driven before, how can he not know the race is over as the chequered flag was waving and the leaders slowed right down as he ‘unlapped’ himself!
Still a ten place grid penalty when you’re several seconds slower than everyone else save Tatiana won’t make much difference to him.

Probably Giancarlo Serenelli or Ricardo Teixeira..although I'd say Raghunathan's credentials are even more dubious

No one noticed anyway since they are all driving around saving tyres....
Genuinely some of the onboards looked quite stupid, the drivers hardly seem to push in the corners.

Ricardo Teixeira was a Caterham F1 test driver for a while.

Until the Sonangol cash ran out, and then he was just embarrassingly slow again...

Let’s see if Ragu and Calderon can get within 107% to qualify in Baku.
