Totally agree, gutsy drice from the back of the grid, looks even better considering he started behind hotshot alonso aswell!

I agree with MB - Driver of the day in my book. Dragging a SAUBER from the back of the grid into 6th, not far behind JPM in a Williams, it's a great drive. And consider that Alonso only finished 10th...

Definitely agreed. Amid a sea of tedious boredom, GF's efforts really stood out.

One of these days, he's going to put that Sauber on the podium. By the way, there are two open seats at Williams next year...Do you want a seat in a competitive car, Fisi, or do you want to continue this romantic quest where somehow a string of drives in midfield entries leads to Ferrari?

Agreed! A good race from Fisi, sure would like to see him on a more aggressive strategy sometime.

A great drive by Fisi, he certainly deserves all the plaudits he can get after that effort.

I'm not sure it was jsut down to Bridgestones. Kimi loked faster than Rubens on the same strategy throughout, adn Button and Montoya had moments of being faster than Rubens as well. It was jsut an allround great drive from Fisichella, making great use of a two=stop strategy and humbling some superior teams.

Good drive by Fizzi, and a reminder to the team bosses that have him on their short list for a top line drive next year.

Bridgestone, a relatively fast car, the right strategy and a good drive.
He did well today. |

Everything worked in his favour. Hints of a certain MS...
Martin said something about Renault taking Fisi and Trulli going to Toyota next year...surely not just because of Trulli's last lap at Magny Cours? |

I think Fisichella is in with a good shout of a Renault drive.
However, he moved from Jordan to Benetton in 1997/8 which coincided with Jordan beginning to win! Then when he moved back in 2001/2 it coincided with the two teams fortunes swinging the other way. With his luck, a move to Renault next year will probably see them off the pace! |

Consdiering that Flavio was desperate to replace Trulli with Fisichella 3 years ago, it seems unlikely that he would make the reverse swap this year, if only because he's got an ego to think about. Jarno should be safe at Renault, as he's been their quicker driver for most of the year.

I don't know. I still think Renault see Alonso as better than Trulli even though the facts this year don't back that up.

The only way Briatore will farm out Trulli is if he can get him a nice pay packet (Mr 10% remember) - Toyota sounds like a good deal.
Fisichella, on the other hand, is over-rated. |

Finnish TV commentators voted Fisico as Driver of the race - Gene being the Disappointment of the race.

I have to agree with that. Fisi - together with Kimi - were the bright points in a snorefest of a "race".
C'mon sir Frank, give Fisi a seat in your team for next year. You know he deserves it. And you know he'll deliver. |

Williams have said Fisi is under consideration. I doubt Renault taking Fisi back after releasing him earlier, and I don't believe Trulli going to Toyota. That is way off. Fisi drove extremely well today but I would like to see that repeated on a consistent basis before I would rate him higher than some others.

Consistency is Fisi's problem.
Often you barely notice he's turned up. |
