Gt1 1998
Quick question. Does anyone know what the minimum weight was for the GT1 class in 1998? Thanks for any responses.

Well, I looked up the stats for the Porsche 911-GT1-98 on the Porsche site. They said the weight was 950kgs. But not sure about the rules for the class.

GT1s were 900kg, and had been since the inception of the class in 93/94.
You could run heavier and enjoy larger restrictors, as TWR Nissan did in 1997. The earlier GT1s, with their production routes, struggled to get down to 900kg, |

Is there a site that records what each car weighed at Le Mans in 1998?

The Porsche GT1's I believe were 950kg's The Toyota GT1's were 900kg's in 1999 so probably the same in 1998. I don't think the Mclaren's ever weighed less than about 1020kg's Nissan/Panoz/Mercedes not sure. |

The Liste des Engagees from 1998 will show the weights. I'm already looking for 1997 for Wout, I'll have to try and find 1998 as well.......

If you have it available and don't mind looking Ayse I'd appreciate it. But don't go out of your way for it. I'm most interested in the Panoz GTR1, the Mercedes CLKLM, Toyota GT-One and the Nissan R390 GT1. Thanks!
