Monaco - not sure on grandstands

I'm going to Monaco this year for the F1. Flights are booked, as is the hotel. I'm just trying to tie up which grandstands to sit in on each of the days. I've got a selection in mind, but wonder if anyone who's been can make some comments.

Saturday - T grandstand - upper, as from there you can (apparently!) see into the pits.

Thursday and sunday I'm not sure which way round to go. The grandstands I've got in mind are K to watch from Tabac and through the swimming pool, or B which is Casino square. Would one of these be better than the other for race day? Is there another grandstand that you'd suggest?

Any thoughts are much appreciated

the t grandstand does indeed give you a view of the pits, but you'd really want to be as high as possible. this is a photo i took from about halfway along the pits looking at the t1-3 grandstands - it's not a particularly high vantage point, so things like people and street furniture/camera points may obscure your view.

v is a cracking view because you're literally on top of the cars when they come round rascasse. the noise there is epic

i havent been up around casino but it seems to be that you get to see a good bit of track - there's usually a bit of drama up there! i'm not sure about tabac - i watched a support race from the t1 end of things in 2010 (well, where i was stood to take that photo) and it was great to see them bomb through there but they go past pretty quickly. maybe t might be a good place for raceday...

and don't forget you get free entry to the pitlane walkabout on wednesday and friday afternoon with saturday and sunday grandstand tickets, and there's good action on friday morning too

Thanks for the info bella I was thinking of T on satuday as it would probably be more interesting to watch than on the sunday? V is sold out for Sunday (on the official ACM site), but might look at that for Thursday.

personally i'd go for t on the sunday, purely because you can see the pits and keep a better track of what's going on. the circuit commentary is in german, english, french and italian so working out who's done what and when is a bit of a pain otherwise again, personally i like to see places where the drivers are really having to work for their money in qualifying so casino might be a good one from that point of view maybe?

Thanks bella, will do. It's all booked now. V (Rascasse) for the thursday, B (Casino square) for saturday and T2 (opposite pits) for sunday.

Any idea how far ahead they post the tickets out?

Neilsonwheels should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Hi
Took the plunge and bought 2 tickets in Grandstand T (lower) near La Rascasse. Anyone been there, any good? I bought the tickets from http://www.global-grand-prix.com (anyone used these??) – are they reliable? Anyway, I was going to get the train in from Nice, just not sure what time to get there. Are there loads of other things going on before the races?
Thanks in advance – Neil

Hi all,

Im new to the forum, but I too have bought tickets to the 2011 Monaco GP.

For quali Im sitting at the Casino, and for race day Im sitting in upper K.

FYI, I booked my tickets through the official F1 website just because I figured they might be a little more reliable then some other booking websites.

Cheers!

Josh
