Pizzonia at German GP?
Many F1 news site pick up a news from The Independent that Antonio "Pizza" Pizzonia will fill-in for Ralf Schumacher at next weekend's German GP after dispointing performance from Marc Gene.
From Planet F1: "Marc had two good cracks at it," a team insider told The Independent, "but was only able to return average performances. Now it's Antonio's turn." http://www.planet-f1.com/news/story_16569.shtml And this is the original story: http://sport.independent.co.uk/motor...p?story=541442 Last edited by Led ZeppF1; 16 Jul 2004 at 07:41. |

According to the Williams insider Heidfeld won't be driving for the BMW-powered team quite simply because his current team boss Eddie Jordan "was foolish in his financial demands to release Nick Heidfeld for Hockenheim."
Shame about Nick though, looks like the lure of the dollar was too much for EJ..... |

However an unrepeatable chance for Pizza to take a revenge against his past year at Jag, and show he's deservedly in F1

The pressure will be on Pizzonia as this could well be his last shot at F1.

Yes it will be very interesting to see how he goes in comparison to Webber, they could very well end up teammates next year. And Eddie Jordan foolish?? NO!

The Pizzonia at Germany threads have now been merged and seperated from the Heidfeld/Pizzonia threads, which can continue as a seperate discussion.

Not sure this merge was a good idea. The conversation in this thread had gone off in another direction and was hugely interesting - Pizzonia driving Hockenehim is a seperate matter.
I'm pleased for Antonio and hope he can show well. Although I don't think he's a potential race winner, he might have more racing spark and pace than Gené. Now de-merged from the Heidfeld thread as requested... Last edited by Super Tourer; 16 Jul 2004 at 15:14. |

I'm glad about this....I'm sure Antonio will show that the Jaguar experience was a bit beyond his control.
The guys quick and he's getting another deserved shot. However, if he does mess up it's bye bye F1 career I'm afraid. |

Oh God!
Looks like Antonio Pizzonia has been attending PR classes given by James Allen.
Quote from AP about racing next weekend: "I'm really happy and I'm ready to rock and roll!” |

Alex Yoong dust off your racing gear it could be your turn next...
The F1 talent pool must be fairly close to the bottom of the barrel if Pizzonia is the only driver they can rake up. If JV(either one )was in the frame for a Williams drive next season you would expect they would have him filling in?,looks like he's retired permanently then?... |

Pleased and confident in his ability....what else would you expect? "I'm very thankful that FW gave me the opportunity to drive for next weekends race. I'm going to go out there and do the best I can. Hopefully Juan and I can both come home with some valuable points." What he said is a cool ballsy statement. Simple and to the point. Cut him some slack. |
