I was at Mallory on 3rd june 2001,my race was the one before Nics(FVEE),as we have the same name, belonged to the same club , had same love of motorsport,both worked for a super market chain, add on to that in my race i was forced over on track and nearly went off at the same place as Nic i went to Nics funeral to say goodbye from another racer.There were several other racers there from his category and although we all pointed that we were not his family his father Doug was kind enough to tell us because of motor racing in a way we were.There must have been two hundred people plus saying goodbye and i will never forget the feeling i had that day,it was the same as when i said goodbye to Roger a friend of mine previously and i had known Roger for years.We are not of this world for long and one day all of us will race again together.

I was one of the marshals involved in Nic's accident. It is something I dont want to see again
