That Mac doesn't half look like a pig to drive from Kimi's on board camera.

Tough luck for DC - but this should give Kimi more confidence to nail him in the future.

I was amused how David decides to take himself out of the lead...and i think even Michael was taken aback...he actually ran just slightly wide into that corner...

Tough luck...but i can't help grinning.

I'm still not convinced, but Kimi did a good job to keep it on the track when most other drivers did their best to throw their cars off.

Shame about DC. I bet he was cheering when he had the lead. But McLaren gremlins strike again, and are becoming increasingly commonplace.....

LOL @ DC - Thanks David to the answer to the question I had about you before this weekend. "Can DC really do it this year?"

I can't believe I gave you the benefit of the doubt. Hang in there Wurz, you may get that ride sooner than you think.

Wrex Wrex Wrex,

Your viciousness on the DC slamming is only matched by my equal rubbishing of Ralf.

On the plus side it's good to see that we both got what we wanted out of this race.

I think useless best descibes DC. All those spins were a treat to watch not to mention him being passed by BOTH MINARDIS - a team he has bad mouthed at every given opportunity.

Take that is what the Minardi team is saying to DC

Oh and get used to Kimi - being on the podium too - its a sign of things to come

We will see where Ralf and DC end up at the end of the year. What comes in behind useless?

That may explain his immense loss of speed... though I doubt it explains his off track excursions into the grass - I had to laugh the third time it happened, it just made him look like an amateur.

McLaren kept him in the race for as long as possible due to the high attrition - anyone could have scored points the way the race went today, and just by hanging in there you could have made it to the top 6.

Look i'm one that definitely has had a gutnfull of coulthard, but that car wasn't his fault-& he did the right thing staying out there.Looks like there may be no immidiate answer to the david V kimi question.Though kimi didn't make any obvious mistakes,i'm still guessing he'll get DC

Hello all, new member here.

About DC performance at Melbourne:

From F1Live.com

'At the start, I managed to find my way through the debris to take the lead,” David explained. “However my car developed a gear box down selection problem and when the safety car pulled in it put itself into neutral which caught me out and I went off the track. I managed to rejoin but the problem continued and eventually the car jammed in sixth gear and that was the end of my race. Obviously I'm disappointed as we would have been in with a good chance today but that is racing and we must now look forward to Malaysia'

'Another race of mixed emotions,” sighed Ron Dennis. “David's gearbox problem ultimately took him out of the race which is very frustrating as we had completed 7500 KM of on-track testing. However we must take some comfort from Kimi's excellent drive, fastest lap and third place.'

So I ask to those who fault DC, what could a better driver have done, dealing with a gearbox that randomly put itself in neutral under braking and then finally got stuck in 6th ?

After reading Z-man's post, I retract this statement. I did laugh, because it was just too funny when it happened for the third time. I realize now DC had massive problems, and was not at fault in any of this.

Don K has a lot of promise if they can keep it on the circuit!
During the race, the team said that his car had been stuck in 2th gear first, and in 6th gear later.
David was still driving at that time, because the team was trying to use the 2-way radio connection to repair the car...

Dc Yet again having to play catch up in championship race.
