Interesting post from Brands Hatch Edit - odd coincidence looking at Nic’s Instagram... his girlfriend is called Sophie Hamshere, Jack Goff’s is called Sophie Hampshire, that can’t happen every often in a race series? |

I've mentioned my thoughts before so won't repeat myself, but will be (pleasantly) surprised to see him scoring many points this year. |

Two blokes have a girlfriend with a similar name. Wowzers. In other news they both have a house they live in. With doors and windows and stuff.
That Unicorn is in fact the cladding on JPs new build Kia; by being cunningly disguised as a Unicorn floating in a paddling pool it's throwing you all off the scent. It's JP working on the wet weather setup. |

Well the fact he was at brands hatch kind of suggests he's visited Motorbase too as they're only just up the road.

Well I do apologise for posting something driver related which I found mildly less dull than the ‘nothing’ of late forgive me for thinking it would be ok.

Cool. I don't think PMR are planning to announce anytime soon. Possibly their and Nic H's announcements (not linked!) not coming 'til media day.

these 2 are playing chicken, whoever announces first - PMR with Plato or Motorbase with Hamilton will be immediately trumped same day by the other when it comes to media attention

It was universally panned, and rightly so because it was awful. I don't recall a single change of lead in any of the races. Finding a venue to replace Rockingham was always going to have limited possibilities: They're not going to go to an MSV track - there are already 5 dates out of 10 on those circuit. Knockhill and Croft are too expensive for the teams. Silverstone doesn't have any spare dates. Thruxton was the only real option. But it's only a placeholder anyway. |

I quite enjoyed the races at the long track, but Oulton is a awkward circult anyway, it feels too small for big touring cars and GT type cars, almost like Cadwell Park
To call it (Thruxton) a placeholder suggests it may still be replaced but that isnt the case for 2019 at least so we need to just accept that its there |

Well, it was certainly suitable in the past for the annual non-championship F1 races. Even after the changes to the circuit, it's still one of the best especially for spectators. |

Oulton is the best circuit in the UK imo...the just need to be running the un-chicaned layout... |

They also have the Fosters shorter circuit at Oulton park, so they could do it like Brands and have one meeting using the Island circuit and a second meeting using the shorter Fosters. Oulton is one of the tracks I like to go and watch the racing trackside and it's also my goto test circuit for testing cars in sim racing, it's an absolute joy to drive (even virtually) so I'd be extremely happy with a second meeting there and I'm pretty sure the drivers would be too.

a 1960's F1 car is at least a meter shorter and 30-40cm narrower than a modern BTCC car tho, maybe its just my perception but a big part of the track seems single file vs somewhere like Brands, Snetterton or Silverstone where cars can run 2 or 3 abreast virtually all the way round

oulton's fosters circuit could work, also with oulton being close to manchester and liverpool. what happened this year was having to fill a date, thruxton is a barc circuit so it was really the only option. plus it avoids giving msvr almost a monopoly
