Round nine winner, Carl Skerlong will have to sit out this weekend due to a concussion sustained in Tuesday practice. Skerlong was currently in fourth place in the overall driver championship.

Markus Niemela is the 2008 Atlantic Championship title holder. The Finnish driver won today's race at Road Atlanta. Jonathan Bomarito had the points lead heading into the event, but failed to finish the race due to a mechanical failure.
