parkingjedi should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
No more Fuji.

In the same vein as the no more Hockenheim thread: Toyota are pulling the pin on hosting the Japanese GP - cost cutting.
Another circuit with a "Tilke-job" bites the dust.
No problem for me as Suzuka is a far better track - lets just hope that Honda/Suzuka doesn't get cold feet.

In actual fact this is not a massive shame in the slightest.

The massive shame came when in 2004-2005 they butchered what was an amazing track to what it is now.

kartracer41 has a lot of promise if they can keep it on the circuit!
Just another sign that the wrong people are getting the bulk of the money in this sport. It's sad that a track has to fork out money to host an event like formula 1. You would think the track would make money.

You're suggesting Toyota should get money instead of Bernie?

Your point is largely correct but this is a unique case. It's Toyota just cost-cutting. It's not like they couldn't afford it

Oh dear what a shame . Looks like the Japanese GP can only be held at Suzuka from now on

(Its is tragic the way Fuji got butchered for F1, in a similar way to Hockenheim)

It's a race track, a business. You would think that the race track could make a profit by having a race on it's track. That is my point. It shouldn't "cost" Toyota anything. Maybe up front investment, but the tracks should make a profit.

this is a funny bit of news as a great track like Suzuka will be back, i mean Fuji kind of sucked as a track no real standout portions.
Good news for once in F1's circus...no if some of the temporary sand circuits will only be stricken with the same nonsense so Spa-F can be made permanent.

Why I am not the slightest bit surprised that another circuit doesn't want Bernies 'give me your blood and a bit more'-attitude.

Fuji was OK during the 2 times it hosted the race in its current configuration. If there would have been a 3rd outing, the opinions that people got of the track would be a bit more balanced, I guess. Fuji would have deserved this chance, as I think, last year's race there was fine.

But I'm happy that Suzuka is back, so there is no grieving here really.

So they opt out of F1?
if FOTA go their own way would it become more financially viable?
possibly.
And would Toyota support a 'grand prix' there?
Probably!
