Wade Cunningham

Personally I believe that one of NZ's wasted talents as a driver, has to be Wade Cunningham.

Not sure as to the reason why, but I watched him win his 3rd Indy lights race at the Indy 500 a few years ago. Absolute zero question Wade has talent.

Does he have the funding? It would appear that is not the case. But such a shame to see him doing nothing anymore. I also think he got the rough end of the stick over the Wheldon accident and many blamed him for it, when that was not the case at all.

Anyway, I for one hope he has not turned his back on motorsport and walked away, and he will get back behind the wheel in something serious.

Porsche and their drivers must be pretty disappointed by their hybrids performance, however, I bet Earl Bamber is very happy with his Carrera Cup Porsche, after charging from 5th on the grid at Singapore to take a dominant win and increase his points lead to 21 with two more races to go.

How long before we see Earl driving with Brendon at Le Mans, not long I am hearing, imagine that, 2 Kiwi's driving together at Le Man's in an outright contender, fingers crossed.

And the last time 2 Kiwis raced together at Le Mans they won the race

Has Wade driven anything recently? Agreed, great talent but just seems to have missed the boat

Good news for Nick, as he seemed to drop off the Formula Renault Radar recently

Bamber in Porsche #912 finished 2nd at Petit Le Mans. From a tweet so I assume that is a class position.
Dixon on the podium in the Ecoboost Riley.

Earl was 10th Overall, 2nd in class just 1 sec behind class winner, which was i guess his team mate.

kiwi's racing overseas

Sitting here in Shanghai, watching 'Adcafe's' Bathurst blog was like Chinese torture. I haven't missed a Bathurst weekend for a very long time and not being able to do anything but listen to a keyboard announcement of the next update, sometimes as much as 5 minutes apart was shear hell! Don't get me wrong I am grateful for Speedcafe's blog but it could be soooo much better.

Reading SVG's pole run was just fantastic, lets just hope that Jonathon can back him up a little better this time. Well done to the whole Tekno team. One very proud Kiwi

Great result for Mitch....p2 overnight at Sochi. Stanaway not so lucky with a p12, but he did start from pitlane. Mitch now in a comfortable 4th in the championship.

And then SVG on pole for today with most of the top kiwis at the pointy end

SVG at the World Time Attack this weekend.
Warming up with the S13 - billet engine, holinger and MCA 4 way suspension.

EVO might have been better than putting 800hp through the rear tyres.

James Munro

Congratulations to NZFF Champion 2012/13 and TRS rookie 2014, James Munro, on taking out the Formula Masters China Series. Look forward to seeing him back in TRS for 2015.

I reckon Southern Man plus a few others may know this - who has heard of Howden Ganley? I must admit to not having heard the name before.

A racing Icon. He even has a block of apartments named after him at Hampton Downs, see some of us are old too.

I may have heard his name in passing but had no idea we'd had a 4th full time F1 driver. And of course, the NZFMR next year is in honour of him! Doh!

Mike was a huge Talent, who just walked away from Racing at the end of 1987, such a Pity. Red Nose Ron Taurance reckoned he was one of the Top 6 Drivers in the World around 1985/6.
He did make a One Off in a F 3000 race in 1988

And almost Hartley. I think the distinction is full time though.
