Looking more and more like Moneyseeker is going to win this one. In these uncertain times can we be sure?

It's July, the season is about to start and we still haven't got a definite calendar, despite them saying they would reveal more at the end of last month

In the current global context, it's understandable why they are not committing to races too far in advance. Anything beyond 2 months out will carry too much uncertainty at the moment I think. We know the first 8 (planned) races, and that the season will end in the Middle East with races in Bahrain and Abu Dhabi. Let's just trust that the experts know what they are doing. I'm sure in time we'll see what the season holds. Until then, we have races to look forward to. It just takes time, and these things are always difficult. I guess we'll just have to wait and see. |

I would expect an announcement if there was to be one, would be done during the weekend where everyone’s in the same place for the first time in months.

I sure hope so. All this speculation about which GPs will still happen does get some of us tired of waiting for an annoucement after a while

Someone needs to create the Austrian race thread. I would, but have no time to create a deserving intro.

Shucks!
Thanks everyone who said how much they appreciated it in this and thread itself. It's fun to look back at old races and cobble together a potted history of each Grand Prix, as well as slip in any tidbits that occur. You might be a bit disappointed by the Styrian Grand Prix preview. It doesn't have much of a history and I can only draw on Austria, of which comparatively little has changed since the previous Grand Prix there. |

Moneyseeker did nail it as there was no last minute problems. And kind of comes second too as the next race is also Austria!
No one went for Hungary. So it looks like the runners up will be those that chose Britain; Philo, Plantagenet, Skam85 |

No Mexico, USA or Brazil. Replaced by what we've already talked about - Nurburgring, Imola and Portimao. |

Something raised on Twitter concerning the championship, a minimum of eight races and three continents to qualify. I can't see them going anywhere other than Europe and the Middle East.

They’ve already past 8 races
Anyway good to have the German GP back, been a while since F1 has been to the Nurburgring. Certainly a circuit that’s got better with time, even if it is nothing compared to the Nordschleife Be good to return to Portugal, Algarve should be a fun challenge with plenty of undulation and it will be good to go back to Imola, even just for a bit of nostalgia. Certainly better than those flat featurless circuits that have been on the calendar of late |

My point was the need for three continents. And as far as I am aware there have so far only been three races.

They could always do another at silverstone, very little distance to travel and not much else happening at the moment. Name it the African GP and all sorted

I see you are treating this with the seriousness it deserves. I'm not being a nay-sayer but really just pointing out that we live in a very fluid time and just because they plan to go to these places doesn't mean they will actually get there.

It's nice that we will see a track that is new to F1 in Portimao. Also, Imola will be good - it's been a while.
I think given the miserable year that we have had, it is a pleasant surprise to see sport at all, so the excitement of different track being brought in is enough to make me smile - not that anyone can see behind my covid mask. |
