V8Supercar Goes International...

... with full FIA accreditation for the series.

Article Here

According to the report, the series can participate at a maximum of 12 Australian venues and 6 International venues each season, as of 2011.

Not sure where this leaves CAMS exactly....

does this now pave the way for Bernie not to have a reason for championship points at the AGP?

No, it paves a way for Bernie to block V8 Supercars at the AGP...

Its not about Bernie, or CAMS, or the FIA... (other championships have points awarded at the AGP meeting)

It's about one TV network having the rights to broadcast the full V8SC Championship (ie. all 'events' where championship points are awarded) and a different TV network that has the rights to broadcast the full AGP meeting.

Mmmm newish Flag Rules then

International status now will mean that the FIA sporting code and Annexe "H" should now apply to-all V8SC- events not that changes a lot but could be interesting all the same and rule 2.6.2.3 could create some fun at tracks around Aussie?????

peckstar has a lot of promise if they can keep it on the circuit!
Also as part of this V8 Supercars Australia (V8SA) now becomes V8 Supercars (V8S)

a slight name change

officials alleged Luff had not been wearing the compulsory fireproof balaclava under his helmet, and ordered Ambrose, who had taken over the car to take a drive-through penalty.

Mr Gow has arguably been in a position of influence with the FIA at this level for some time. If the mail is correct, he is now the FIA delegate in charge of VESoA's category

I guess this begs the question will this International Series now still be the Australian Touring Car Championship series, Australia's premium tintop championship????????
