And T_R, i don't think there is enough space for the pits where you have them, the original track is only 2 miles remember. Really, you have no option but to leave the pits where they are.

However, the left most part that you changed is supposed to be the old banking. That's why it is curved. It's just taken the other way around.

Extended the run to Bit-Kurve, giving a longer, straighter run to NGK Chicane, and freeing up more space in the infield for altering that silly Tilke Kidney

Yes, but the 3 following turns are the most pathetic monstrocities ever. It's all low revs, low speed, with no gaps in between. They've hardly accelerated out of T1 when they have to go round T2, then T3 appears immediately, and then T4 is horrible.
T1 is too tight to allow passing anyway, and is in the same place as the old T1, and overtaking is no more possible than at the old corner.

The whole thing is a complete pigs ear, floating in a sea of tarmac, laughing at the greatest racetrack in the world, just down the main straight away.

That "pig's ear" is fairly good in DTM races, though. Why wouldn't F1 use the hairpin, but then steer back left onto the 'old' straight and skip the entire section?

BTW, there's one advantage for these low-speed corners at the 'Ring: F1 cars can easily follow eachother closely through. Which is a nice sight.

I agree for DTM its great, but for F1, its very restrictive for the cars
No sooner have then accelerated out of the hairpin, they've just reached the shift up to 3rd, but right before they can do it, they have to shut off and coast round this long left hander which tightens once more, and it's low speed, low grip, the sort of stuff high powered cars don't like, and to finish it off a silly right hander, which if it had been designed properly, might have allowed some overtaking into the old T3 (now T5)

When going back to Suzuka, i had to accept a few things

1) it's too dangerous to keep all the corners

2) It's not great for overtaking

3) I shouldn't get so sentimental about good corners....

That's a good track, P. It's not the same as the old Riverside, but I think that's a good thing. I've been struggling with that exact problem.

BTW, the startline for the road course is on the left most straight and it runs anticlockwise. I forgot to put in pit buildings.
