JGTC : far enough to not allow the car to enter LM. French rules are more or less the same as FIA-GT, at my knowing, but I'm not the specialist here...

British GT is the same as FIA GT, ecept thet BGT has a Cup Class. driver lineup cant have 2 pro drivers

French GT is idential to FIA GT, except that the french Gt driver lineup cant have 2 pro drivers.

Japanese GT is totally diffrent thing. hardly anything similar at all (but the series is great, good competition with factory teams)

there is no real German GT right now. only thing similar is the VLN, which i really dont know a whole lot about. It has mostly touring cars in it

Italian GT: Dont know anything about, but it looks like it runs under FIA GT rules

Spanish GT uses FIA GT rules, but it lets some other special cars in.

ACO and FIA GT rules are somewhat still diffrent. hopefully in 2005, they will be both the same

Not if ACO regs are adopted. Unless they get dispensation which is likely.

If FIA regs are adopted would only the C5-R be affected. The Saleen is now allowed in FIA GT and the TVR has FIA homologation now.

what was the problem with the lister? i heard something about rear suspension, and also not meeting the 25 car requirement.
Is this correct? If so can anyone shed some light on what exactly (or near as dammit) what the suspension problem is?
Back on topic, I have to say a unified rule book would be a good move, benefits in cost of running in different series are pretty obvious...

regards
Ed

Regarding Lister, they will not build a new car after the Storm comes to the end of its life. They will concentrate on the LMP and hope to get a deal with a manufactuer for a GTS car.

IIRC didn't they attempt Le Mans in '95 with the GTS Storm? I'm sure i have a poster of the road car from '94-'95 somewhere....

You do remember correctly- an attempt at Le Mans in 95 driven by Geoff Lees/Dominic Chappell/Rupert Keegan, which ended in transmission failure- the car was blue and white at that time- the black livery came later (BPRO races in 96 from memory) with the advent of the Newcastle United tie-up

blimey if they keep it up in 2005 it'll be ten years.... thats a long time. Just think of all the GTS cars we've seen come and go (Macca F1, Porker GT2, Viper, etc).

EDIT -

Your right too, it was a blue one..
'95 lister
Was this their debut year?

And i noticed on my searches something about an illegal exhaust on the car in '98 (although i think this was the GTL version), something regarding running through a tunnel in the cockpit? And this was despite being run in the same configuration for the past 3 years. Is this one reason why we won't see the GTS Storm at LM again?
