Prevent taping over your tapes by labelling them luke! I've hundreds of tapes and never tape over any (although there is one I am tempted to tape over).

Unfortunately no labels, but I will tape 2005.

But I also have IRL races dating back 2001, there is a limit when you only have 24 tapes.

But I userly only tape the highlights of Grand prix as I can fit a 1/3 of the season on just one tape.

I have way too much stuff to list. I am a pack rat, I admit it. But I have the tin with the Target cars in it, and a big box of Penske things I will never look at again, including a very nice leather jacket and an autographed photo of me with Gil and Helio Who.

My favourite stuff that's out to look at is an Audi R8R 1/18 size, a 1/12 1979 F1 Villeneuve Ferrari model that you can take apart and look at the engine and stuff, a Colin McRae Rally Car, Greg Moore Champ Car, Alain Prost 1993 Williams (1/43), Johnny Herbert's Stewart Ford (autographed 1/18), autographed photos of practically everybody, and the 2001 Entry List from Le Mans with about 2/3 of the drivers' autographs. My best CC stuff is caps and shirts.

I also have an open wheel Pez Dispenser and a very nice Texaco Star F2 Lotus that was made as a promotional item for children to play with -- the car was a dud and only ran once and I think Fittipaldi drove it. And a bunch of Hot Wheels F1 cars that have battery operated launch control and move fast enough to scare the cat -- WIlliams, Jordan and Jaguar.

I remember this toy well because my grandparents owned a Texaco station, and whenever I would go to their house as a little boy I would play with it.

They still have the car, too! And even though I am an adult now, whenever I am at their house I will still mess around with it once in a while.

I've have the CART yearbooks from 87-88 & 90-95,
1/43 scale Robby Gordon Valvoline Walker,
1/43 scale a JJ Lehto Hogan car,
1/43 scale Blundell Motorola car,
1/24 scale Gil de Ferran Pennzoil bank Car,
1/24 scale Andre Ribiero car (really liked that car, the old LCI car).

I've got a bunch (8 or 10) 1/64th scale racing champion cars some from the 89-90 era including Mario, Rick Mears, Al Unser Sr. & Jr. and a few from 93-94 including Michael Andretti in the Target car.

I've also got a pennant from the very first Budweiser Cleveland Grand Prix.


Some other cool racing stuff I really like on my shelf are a 1/24th Hot wheel 2000 Schumacher Ferrari, 1/18th scale Joest Audi R8, and a 1/18th scale BMW V12 LMR (Sebring winner with Beck's sponsorship).

I have a HONDA poster from 2001 autographed for me in person at the HONDA factory in Marysville Ohio USA by Gil de Ferran,Micheal Andretti,Paul Tracy,Helio Castroneves,and Dario Franchitti. They were there to promote the Mid-Ohio race and HONDA.

Wow, I forgot the most important part of my Champ Car collection!

It is a Mercedes-Benz poster with all the Mercedes CC drivers on it signed by Greg Moore. He signed it a the one time Sebring Octoberfest, IMSA / FIA GT race they had. He was swamped by fans at the Mercedes FIA GT transporter signing autographs faster than anyone I've even seen, saying hello to each and every person he could. You could tell he was almost overwhelmed but seemed to take it in stride. A class act.

I have lots of race programs, hero cards, & Media guides. Sweatshirts, T-Shirts dating back to IMSA's hayday.

A really cool print of Alex Zanardi, racing tins, & pins, jewelry, jackets, videos and games, hot wheels Champcars, autograghed hats, tag protectors, backpacks, lots of pictures, and an IMS brick.

I even have a paddock pig given to me by a special friend

The yearbooks 93-2004, lots of books on Senna, Zinardi, NASCAR, F1, INDY/CART/CHAMPCAR, 2005 CC Calender.

BTW does Speedracer count? I have lots of Speedracer stuff.

But my most prized positions are the friends that I have collected along the way. I have encountered some very interesting people that have touched my life in a huge way. And I wouldn't trade that for anything in the world

I felt like changing my avatar again, and did a quick websearch to see if I could find an image of the Thierry Thompson print that I have in our livingroom.

This would be it - A depiction of Rick Mears at Indy in May 1991.

The footprint from the shoe that stood on the gas is not as obvious as it would appear to be in that picture. It has no colour at all, it is stamped right into the paper.

Nor does the picture do the actual print any justice. At first glance, it would appear to be a photograph - the attention to detail is so astonishing. Even to the point of reflections on the metal. Ours is framed with a 2" border.

Went to WalMart this evening to pick up a few things...

Happened to walk through the toy section.

Now, I'm not the world's #1 Ferrari fan, but I do rank in the Top-10 for Lego fans.

And so I couldn't resist buying this set. The other sets in the collection are on my wish-list, but they didn't have them instock.

My kids are fighting over it right now, as it has a pull-back-and-release motor, but tonight it goes up onto my shelf to get dusty.

I've been a LegoMan since the early 70's, but this was the first time I've ever had stickers come in the box!

Other than the usual tee shirts etc. I have tons of pictures, I took, a brake rotor from a Ganassi car, & a few autographs. The best I have, is an NII Holdings Inc. hat, straight from Kalkhoven's head. Last March, at the sneak preview, I was talking to KK after a press conference. My wife walked up & introduced herself & said we worked for deepthrottle.com. He said he reads it & loves it. He took off his hat & put it on her's. She was so jazzed that he reads her articles. I think she could have floated home on the high.

I don't have much Champcar stuff, except some autographs from when they visited Brands in 2003. Includes Emmo's, Moreno, Rahal and Bourdais. Met Bobby Rahal twice in fact, the other time at Goodwood. What a nice bloke. Other motorsport autographs include Michael Schumacher and it is genuine, Nelson Piquet, Sir Jack Brabham, Mark Webber and Derek Bell. But my favourite because he has to be the nicest person I have met in Motorsport is Carrol Shelby's autograph.

This is not a boast, but I just have to share with you guys what I found just the other day. I'm just blown away by it.

My partner decided to paint the bedroom, so pulled all the furniture out while he did it. I didn't remember that when we moved to this house five years ago I'd stashed two plastic lidded bins full of "stuff" under the bed. This tells you how often I look under there....

Anyway, in the interests of being somewhat less of a packrat I opened the bins. WOW.

How about participant t-shirts from every Toronto Molson Indy between 1986 and 1995 (yes, including the inaugural)? A t-shirt for Patrick Carpentier driving the #16 Bettenhausen Alumax car (and a Hot Wheels to match, still in its packaging)? A baseball cap from Rio in 1998? And the absolute find of the day, a Greg Moore t-shirt from his Forsythe Indy Lights days. Signed, no less.

Holy cow. I'm rich. It's kind of embarrassing.

I saw Al Unser's 1993 Vavoline car on ebay for sale in 1:18 scale, bloody expensive, but bloody nice!

I know this is off topic for Champ Car but the pride of my collection is the left rear of the sidepod from the 1996Ferrari 310B. It is signed by Michael Schumacher, Ross Brawn and Jody Sheckter will official A4 sized framed documentation from Marranello concessionares and framed photos of the signing. It cost me £3,000 and although i can never see myself selling it i reckon when Schuey retires it will be worth more like four or five. I also have a signed digital print of Mansell exciting the tunnel in the FW14B sparks flying. It's in a chrome frame and looks good. Also cost a pretty penny.
While at the Goodwood Festival of Speed last Summer i had my programme signed by Jenson Button, Riccardo Patrese, Justin Wilson and Antonio Pizzonia.

I have programs going back to the 70's from Mosport. More model cars you can imagine including proper conversions of all the Canadian Champcar drivers that Action or Minichamps produced in 1/18th. Signed visors from a number of drivers. A piece of of a Player's car signed by Paul, Tag and Pat.

Lots of autographs including some on photos that I took. I have a Black's photo box signed by Alex Zanardi in Michigan 2001 when I couldn't find the photo I had taken of his car. He had quite a laugh at me fumbling through my photos.

Yes, Zanardi was very approachable and personable.
So was Parker Johnstone and Rick Mears.
Those names stand out, from my personal experiences.

Rick Mears is one of the nicest people I have ever had the pleasure of meeting.

My favorite piece of memorabilia is my Rick Mears bobblehead signed by Mr. Mears. He thought it was funny being asked to sign one - was not sure how to do it, but he did. Perfectly, not smeared and even got the thanks on for me.

That's him though. He is very nice. He sent me personalized, autographed pictures to my husband and I and one for each of my kids. I can't say enough about how nice he has always been.
