Well on another forum I was hearing that it's on Setanta, along with DTM...

I hope it isn't Setanta, I'll have to fork out a tv fee for the channel, which I really don't want to do as there's naff all else they show of interest (to me)!!

Fingers crossed for Eurosport if the Beeb really aren't going to bother with it.

Hah. Something leads me to suspect he won't be quite up to the standard of the other GP2 drivers yet..

Having seen a lot of him, I think Panciatici is well above average of the current GP2 drivers...

he's just another pay-driver

He was once in Renaults youngdriver program but they dropped him (not that that means something, they even dropped Kubica imo). But in 2007 he topped all the wintertesting of Formula Renault 2.0, still he only finished 10th in that championship.

In 2008 he raced in the Spanish Formula 3 Championship, he became runner-up, but he didn't get a single victory!

There are other drivers who deserve a GP2 seat much more then he does.

But it's all about the money..

Technically he did actually win at Magny Cours from pole as the car first over the line wasn't eligible.

I still think he's well above the average talent level in GP2, but that's only my opinion of course.

Yeah I thought Panciatici looked half decent in 2.0 Renault, but then I also thought there were drivers head and shoulders better than him.

Being decent in that and decent 2 levels up, having not exactly set the F3 world on fire, are totally different things.

When real talents like Van Der Drift and the Christodoulous's are finding it tough to find the money it kind of puts things in perspective!

Worth bearing in mind that he finished 2nd overall in Spanish F3 driving in the B-Class, unlike German Sanchez.

Not bad (better than a few who have graced GP2 in the past certainly), but may find himself a little out of depth on what is quite a high-quality grid this year IMO.

Ricardo Teixeira makes Nelson Panciatici look like a future WDC.

I'd really like to see Rigon though, he was excellent in Superleague.

Hope Teixeira doesn't buy a ride here... he was out of his depth in F3. I rate Rigon too, seems to have achieved an awful lot without much hype about him.

It seems to me iSport are struggling in testing, do you think we could see the former champions drop right out of contention this year?

If so do you think they could strugle next year trying to find drivers? I expected much more from van der Garde but he looks like hes struggling and Nunes, well I don't think he will ever be more than a midfield runner.

I think iSport may have made a mistake with their driver line up this year, shame as they are my favourite team!

What do you guys think?

Best team, but think they held out for Bruno again, and now have an up hill battle with second choice driver. Shows how hard this game is, with a year of average results will make next years driver market harder for them. They worked hard to get to the top, and not a silver spoon team, so hope they can recover.
