2014 Bet 'Em IndyContest - rounds 9 & 10 Houston

Hi, folks! Welcome to the round 8 of the Bet 'Em IndyContest. Houston's street were very uneven last year, which caused mechanic problems for several drivers. Together with close walls and sharp corners, both races can bring caution periods.

Texas winner Ed Carpenter will not race at Houston. Therefore, Belt Challenge holder Power will be faced by Hélio Castroneves, who is second in the standings.

As in other doubleheaders, each participant must post a single bet, and each race pays separately.

You must pick four different drivers and a manufacturer:

o- Winner ($ 1,000)
o- Podium ($ 300)
o- Top 10 ($ 50)
o- Belt Challenge ($ 100) - Power or Castroneves.
o- Winning manufacturer ($ 100) - Chevrolet or Honda.

The stakes for Houston are:

o- 3 to 1: Castroneves, Power, Hunter-Reay.
o- 6 to 1: Dixon, Pagenaud, Andretti.
o- 10 to 1: Wilson, Montoya, Kanaan.
o- 20 to 1: Briscoe, Hinchcliffe, Muñoz.
o- 30 to 1: Kimball, Bourdais, Conway, Newgarden.
o- 60 to 1: Aleshin, Sato, Hawksworth.
o- 100 to 1: Rahal, Saavedra, Huertas.

o- Chevy: 3 to 1.
o- Honda: 3 to 1.

If you post your bets after qualifying begins, you will get only half the earnings. Good luck!

So, here's the results of the 2014 Grand Prix of Houston race 1:

o- Winner ($ 1,000): Huertas (100 to 1).
o- Podium ($ 300): Huertas (100 to 1), Montoya (10 to 1), Muñoz (20 to 1).
o- Top 10 ($ 50): Bourdais (30 to 1), Hinchcliffe (20 to 1), Hawksworth (60 to 1), Hunter-Reay (3 to 1), Andretti (6 to 1), Castroneves (3 to 1), Wilson (10 to 1).
o- Belt Challenge ($ 100) - Castroneves (3 to 1).
o- Winning manufacturer ($ 100) - Honda (3 to 1).

Nobody picked Huertas for any bet. Nobody chose Montoya or Muñoz por the podium either. For the top 10, Burp cashed $ 3,000 for picking Hawksworth; Salamus got $ 1,500 for picking Bourdais; and Teretonga and MTAR got $ 1,000 for picking Hinchcliffe.

Burp, DRT and WAT chose Castroneves for the Belt Challenge and earned $ 300. Seven betters got $ 300 for picking Honda for the win.

Burp survived the wet mayhem and took the win. Salamos and Teretonga were next. I had a terrible Saturday and got not money back.

o- Top 10 ($ 50): Kimball (30 to 1), Bourdais (30 to 1), Hunter-Reay (3 to 1), Montoya (10 to 1), Briscoe (20 to 1), Andretti (6 to 1), Kanaan (10 to 1).
o- Belt Challenge ($ 100) - Power (3 to 1).
o- Winning manufacturer ($ 100) - Honda (3 to 1).

NaBUru38 cashed $ 6,000 for picking Pagenaud for the win, whereas DRT chose him for the podium and got $ 1,800. Salamus earned $ 1,500 for selecting Bourdais for the top 10, Icemachine received $ 1,000 for choosing Briscoe and Skells22 got $ 500 for picking Montoya.

Power beat Castroneves this time, so the other eight betters also got $ 300 for the Belt Challenge. But Honda won the race again, so the seven betters won $ 300 again.

I got paid back after my horrible Saturday results and led the earnings. DRT and Salamus completed the podium. WAT got no money this time, despite the late entry.
