PR: Peter Hansen Resigns As CAMS CEO

Peter Hansen has announced his resignation from the position of Chief Executive Officer of the Confederation of Australian Motor Sport, CAMS. He will continue to be engaged by CAMS until the end of February 2002.

Mr Hansen intends to explore opportunities in international motor sport, explaining that, "Motor sport in Australia is recognised for its excellent organisational skills, resulting in our services being in demand overseas, especially in the growing Asian markets.

"These new opportunities are far reaching and such that time will not permit me to focus on them as well as retain my role as CEO of CAMS. However, I look forward to the possibility of involving CAMS and others in Australian motor sport in their great potential."

The Chairman and President of CAMS, Mr Colin Osborne, paid tribute to Hansen, saying, "Peter has been an excellent Chief Executive Officer, bringing considerable business experience to CAMS while playing a pivotal role in the commercial, structural and constitutional reform processes of the organisation during the past two years.

"CAMS is disappointed that Peter will be leaving us, but he is keen to explore the opportunities that have presented themselves recently. Consequently, we have come to an arrangement wherein he will continue with a number of specific projects while progressively decreasing his day-to day activities with CAMS.

"Peter has worked closely with the Board and his management team in a number of significant initiatives. His energy and commitment to the role have been highly commendable."

Well, looks like the old boy network has triumphed again.

Obviously the regulars only want to pay lip service to any idea they are trying to 'reform and improve' CAMS.

Oh dear, he's using his position in the CAMS, where he has wrought untold havoc, to elevate himself to yet another higher (and higher paid) position...

Wonder if I should post some of the comments of people who see through this charade and have some seriously negative comments to make about this joker?

CAMS must now be obliged to employ someone with the interests of motor sport at heart....

Now that would be a triumphant homecoming!

Second time in two days that name has come up... and both times there was some cynicism in the mention... wonder why?
