You really think thats why?

Does anyone have an accurate breakdown of where the entry fee goes.

We run a sprint at north weald - and the club does take a cut but then the entry fee is only £50. The cut we take is tiny but adds up to fund other events that make a loss.

Do the big clubs do this?

All of the rest goes to the MSA for permit/insurance etc.. and to the land owners for venue hire.

What are the circuit hire charges for a days racing?

Brands is about £17,000 I think
Lydden about £4,000
Snet around £8,500

Why the differences? How much are Combe, Thruxton and Croft?

RTH should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Last week there was a big piece in our local paper about planning permission for a housing estate on the whole North Weald site - so that may not be long for this world either.

If any Motor Racing is to be kept going in South East England , - We may need the owner of a disused airfield for a back to basics no frills race track - any ideas ?

The BARC offer two races for £100 at Stowe (the "no frills" part of Silverstone) and two races at Lydden for £118 (10 laps and 20 laps). The same venue, Lydden, cost £150 for one race with the BRSCC and this was 18 laps.

RTH what paper was that in? can I get a copy?

Also we are staring major problems in the face - we have no venues left in the south east - we need a back to basics airfield circuit - Wethersfield Perhaps (needs resurfacing)

So lets ask ourselves where is the £32 going?

BARC SE, SEMSEC, DDMC and the Welsh lot all seem to be able to do decent local series for next to nothing, the 750 MC are reasonable then BRSCC are very expensive - why the differences in costs.

I wonder what the cost would be if 7oaks ran an Brand winter meeting?
