I will be at Spa, so won't be able to help this year. However, the Historic FF2000 barbecues are at your disposal (and some rather sprauncy aprons we bought recently).
I think you'd better have a word with Dennis, he was very organised last year. |

I vaguely recall some discussions on a thread somewhere that observed some later-than-ever finishes (compounded, potentially, by the complexity of split paddocks) that might make organising this year's bash a little challenging.
Unless the timetable changes of course. Might be more of a 'Midnight Feast'. Or perhaps BBQ Breakfast? |

Hmmmmmmmmmmm. Thankyou GP. We are setting up one truck in the old paddock and the other somewhere near the new pits. We do have two BBQ's by kind permission of me very well educated freind. He also says he will sort my spell cheque out Saturday morning.

Here you go.
Seems to get later and later each year. Interesting split between the paddocks though. Maybe get the Escort finished and persuade the HSCC to allow you to use it to deliver food parcels to the marshals whilst they are still on post. Might be enough time for a quick circuit between races. Other than that ... Forget the beer - do Breakfast. 7am to 8am Saturday morning looks to be about the only sensible time and a 'full English' might help people survive the day. Anyone have a friendly fruit juice and coffee/tea supplier? Last edited by grantp; 10 Jun 2011 at 13:17. |

Iain - will you be doing a delivery service on the day? I can't get to the Classic as I'll be time-keeping at Croft.
Have a good one. Gary |

Alas, won't be racing at the Classic this year (first time in 7 years).
The Classic will have fallen on my wife's birthday for the last 3 years, and after last year's attempt at a romantic evening at the Classic fell flat (when I couldn't get the oven in the motorhome working, and we had to settle for a pint of warm lager in a plastic glass, a bacon butty from a van, and Jedward concert), I used up all my remaining 'goodwill'. So very harsh, my wife.... But, hopefully will catch up with some of you at Dijon, and others at Spa in September. In the mean, time, best I can do is some 'virtual beer' for Silverstone.... |

the BBQ & beer is much appreciated as usual - almost as much as the time to spend with you guys chewing the fat and ogling the lovely machinery.
I tend to agree with Alan about Friday evening - could be popular with folk who are driving down after work to do Sat / Sun. The suggestion of breakfast might not be so worthwhile, as some of the bigger events tend to sort us a breakfast voucher for the paddock diner already? Location wise, I suspect that the old paddock would work out better - marshals' campsite at copse within staggering distance & parking probably more practical than the new one for those of us sneaking home by car after an evening of socialising. Trust you'll keep the location a secret from those who can't recognise a Cornish flag! |

Racing does not seem to finish until about 9pm on Saturday and some of us may have to be up with the lark to see their cars out at 9am!
Friday seems much more reasonable so everybody can get together at a sensible time. |

Hi Iain,
Friday sounds good, eariler finish and I wouldn't mind seeing Suzi/10cc (on saturday), if we get the chance. I'll bring beer, do you want anything else? |

I think it is just possible there may not be an alternative to Friday with the Old Paddock location a preferred venue. (I suspect that might also be the preference for the circuit management as well. Wouldn't want people dripping oily food all over their new paddock would they!)
Hmm. Friday. Anyone got a Fish and Chip van spare? |
